Haha, I've got the time stamp to show I sent the email about 2 hours earlier than your post

Still, I was surprised anyone even read, let alone replied to a critical email like the one I sent. Granted, I didn't write "omg joo wtf"...but I did mention the pricing was embarrassing. Figured I'd share in case any of you ever feel like voicing your disapproval but assume it won't be read.

p.s. I do see you win the registration race though...6 days earlier than me

What do I get for beating both of you on the registration date? :sneaky:

I am pissed.
I not only didn't get a retail drive. I didn't get any drive.
Nothing, nada, zip.
Just a box stuffed as tight as it could be with air pillows.

I tried calling the support number. Guess what? it's an answering machine. So I sent an email ranting.

Has anyone ever ordered from this place before?
I feel pissed.
I waited 9 days for a friggin box of air pillows.

I may just order from Newegg. At least I will get it in a couple of days.

I've successfully ordered a number of times from eWiz/SuperBiiz.

I do feel your pain though. I had that happen to me once from Frys.com, where I received an empty box that was supposed to have held two hard drives - well, empty except for packing materials and packing sheet.

i've ordered a lot of things from superbiz mostly all positive but I had to return some ram because of a mistake I made and they charged me a 15% restocking fee and wouldn't wave it. I even told them that I would order the replacement sticks from them but they wouldn't back down. So I ordered the new sticks from somewhere else. They lost business because of that but what can I do but tell my story.

I've bought quite a bit of stuff from them, myself, mostly back in August when the Bing CB was at 20%. Never had to return anything, though.

That really sucks. Maybe someone started the packing process, took a break or something and forgot to actually put the drive in the box and sealed it up. or they had a good opportunity to get a free drive.

I would be pissed too. I have ordered a good amount from them and never had an issue...knocking on wood

Thanks guys.
At least knowing that other people have ordered from them in the past kind of makes it a little more forgiving. This was my first time on the site.
Let's see how long it takes them to email me back.

I would suggest you keep trying to phone them instead of waiting for an email.

I tried calling several times, but its just a voicemail box.
But they did email me back saying that they have filed a claim with UPS.
I even told them that it wasn't ups's fault. That they need to check their inventory.
I don't see how anyone could have gotten the drive out of the box. It was taped up really good and had two big plastic straps around it.
Anyway, I just went ahead and ordered one from Newegg. I should have it day after tomorrow. So then I can join the rest of you in the 21st century.
This is the first upgrade I have done in years that I am really excited about the performance boost.
My last few upgrades were pretty much non events, they just didn't give me the boost I was expecting.

Sweet, thanks to the both of you. I'll keep an eye out for it.
Cheaper 40gb actually sounds better to me. Really just want to hold out for the cheaper ones near the end of the year, but am just too tempted.
Not sure if your still looking, but ewiz has the 40gb v series for $110 after coupon plus 5%bcb=$104.5
Or if you can get by with a 30gb drive OCZ has some good deals right now after rebate/bcb

any updates? Hope you got your replacement

I am so lost on which drive I want, lol. maybe I will go with the cheapest untill end of year when new drives come out and prices drop.
I am leaning towards this drive, 40gb vseries, 80gb dane/intel gen1 $150, or ocz solid 2/agility(but seen too many failures on agility)

glad it was easier for some of you to make your decisions

I want the G2 80GB, but after this read, Im hesitant...even though its a smoking deal. I did look and ewiz has decent reseller reviews, but still.

The drive comes with a 2.5/3.5 adapter bracket and screws, you don't need to buy that... It does NOT however come with a SATA data cable or power adapter...

I picked one up form COMPUSA.com last week for 249 (+10% BCB), when i opened up my computer i discovered that the last remaining SATA power cable was kinda broken...

Edit:
My apologies everyone, I got a retail kit, not OEM, and it comes with the bracket... didnt read the deal carefully enough, sorry for the confusion...

Just thought I would give an update on how ebiiz is handling this.
They suck.
Wouldn't send out the drive and said I have to wait till UPS finishes the claim process before they issue a refund. Funny thing is, the day after the empty box was delivered and I contacted them by email, the transaction was canceled by bing. 3 days before they made contact with me.
Anyway I got the same drive from newegg for 209 shipped and had it 2 days later. I had a 10 off certificate from an old purchase. The drive was 219.

As soon as I got it, I disconnected my main drives and connected the ssd and installed a new copy of win7 ult. Took about 30 minutes from pluging the drive in to full install.
Win 7 did all the formatting and system changes on its own without any input from me. Even all the so called tweaks were done by the OS, such as turning off defrag and turning on trim. Very simple install.
Boot time is almost instantaneous after the bios, maybe 2-4 seconds to desktop. The little windows loading animation just barely starts up before it vanishes and the desktop pops up.
I set this drive up as an 80gb C: drive with just one partition. In the bios I have all the advanced drive options turned on for the drives.
My windows drive score went from 6.0 on the old drives to 7.9 with the SSD.

Next I installed all the business and accounting software, and a few little things like rocket dock and firefox.
Then I installed both versions of modern warfare on the c drive along with a copy of battlefield 2142 and I still have 27.9 gb of free space.
You think the loading of the OS is fast?
Modern warfare 2, after it connects to steam, loads a mission in about 3-4 seconds.
That is very impressive and the whole system is running like a dream machine.
The real test came day before yesterday and yesterday.
Our electricity has been going crazy the past two days. Off and ON, off and on. Sometimes the system wouldn't even get back up again before the power went out again. It did this upwards of 20 times yesterday.
Not one problem to report.
Everything is running as smooth as the time I installed it. No lost cluster or anything.
I really can't say enough about this drive.
Best upgrade I have ever done.

Does this drive improve spyware/virus scan times? Does it allow me to do other IO intensive tasks when scanning?

Not sure, I guess it all depends how power hungry your virus program is.
I use Microsoft security essentials and it does most of its work very quietly in the background.

A full scan of the drive is considerably faster than it use to be. But it's only 80 GB.
I just did a full scan of the drive and it took 68 seconds.

Maybe this will give an idea.
I can play modern warfare 2 at full resolution, run utorrent, play a cd with media player 11, have majicjack running and do a virus scan all at the same time without any noticeable effects. Total of 67 process running.
I think this has more to do with 7 than the disc.

I also have a quad q9450 at 3.8 GHZ.

and I have my disc stuck to the inside wall of my case with a small piece of duct tape

How are you getting 2-4 seconds to desktop? I get 15-20 seconds from BIOS to active Windows 7 desktop. I am on an i7 920 machine with 12GB of DDR3. What am I missing?

I do have some networked drives, and two platter hard drives in the machine too. Is that the bottleneck?

He said after all the bios stuff, plus it was on a fresh install with nothing more I believe. all the bios stuff is what takes the longest anyway and some are worse than others. If I recall correctly x58 initial boot takes longer than last gen mobos
