Just got back from Hawaii a week ago. I guess my uncle picked this up about 18 months ago and started going crazy with it...It's pretty sweet how all the guages light up when it starts. And showing how little I know about turbo charged cars, the thing runs on it's own for 2 min after the keys are taken out of the ignition so that the turbos can cool, or something to that effect.

I didn't get any specifics on it, as my uncle lives in Kona, but keeps this car at his dad's/my grandpa's in Honolulu.

Pretty tho!

Upon closer inspection (the originals are 1600x1200) I see the following:

Defi Gauges:
Boost on the Steering Column
Water Temp, Oil Temp, and Exhaust Temp in the cluster of 3.
Oil Pressure and Fuel Pressure just above the shifter.

What looks to be a Tein EDFC? Readout says front and rear.
Link Found!

Under the screen, it says Greddy e-01. During startup it says Take It Easy with a smiley face . Then later it also has boost psi.

There is also another Greddy controller of some sort mounted to the left of the center console, but none of my shots give me a good look at it.

I emailed him this morning and just got a response:

As for the G-RIDE, it's got a greddy twin turbo set up with intercooler, Jim Wolf clutch, HKS blow off valve, Tein type cs coil over suspension, Hotchkins sway bars, Volk racing 19x10.5 rear and 19x9.5 front wrapped in Potenza rubber, Injen exhaust and Kinitex camber kit. Everything is monitored by Defi gauges. It was dyno'd @ 335 hp to the wheels. The boost is set @ 5.5lbs. I would love to turn up the boost but it would require changing rods, pistons and a thicker head gasket. Of course if I were to go that far, I would definitely port and polish the heads. With all that said and done I would be in the 600+ hp range. The Greddy tt kit is capable of 700+ hp. For now this is plenty enough power. As for the ice, I'm running a Alpine dvd, Rainbow mids and highs, JL W3s 10 inch (2) and (2) Rockford Fosgate amps.

I asked about the front bumper and the brakes...

Everthing cost $$$$$. I will probably put a Greddy front bumper to get more air flow in the near future. As for the big brake kit, I want to go with the Endless 14 inch rotors 8 psiton calipers front and 13 inch rotors 6 piston calipers rear. For now the Brembos will have to do.

Wow. That's gotta be near 500hp. What a monster. Still, all that money and he kept the stock brakes? They look tiny.

Defi BF gauges are nice, but very pricy.

I'd love to get a set of amber BF gauges to match my instrument panel, but they just cost so dang much.

I was thinking the same thing. 19's in the back, and 18's in the front...yet no big ass drilled/slotted rotors?! I'm gonna give him crap for that if that hasn't changed by the next time I'm down there.

exactly what I was thinking. I hate all these cars that get bigger rims but don't ungrade their rotors.

No idea. He lives in Kona, but keeps this car in Honolulu.

I guess it was supposed to be in a recent car show at the Blaisdale (sp?), but he didn't make it over. From what I understand he's only in Honolulu once every 1-2 months. He lives/works in Kona.

the engine doesn't run, but hte oil pump does.

The Turbo cools by having oil flown through its passage ways. This is because if the engine was driven hard and turbo was being used quite often at full boost it gets extremely hot. And if you turn off the car right after that, its bad for the turbo since its structure doesn't not cool down properly. Over time, it will wear the turbo down quite badly.

You don't need a turbo timer if you drive the car conservatively for the last 5-10mins before you turn it off.

pretty nice!

the 500hp i think is saying too much. something close to 400-450 at the crank would make more sense.

I don't think the vq internals and the stock 6-spd gearbox can even handle 500

having put this much money into that car -- i woudnt be surprised if he had upgraded teh stock internals as well -- that car could be running much more than 7-8 psi. I'd say 500hp isnt out of the question at all.

the stock g35 brakes are actually very good, especially the 6MT brembos. they might not look huge compared to those wheels but they can stop the car from 60 in like 112ft which isn't bad. of course a big brake kit would look nice and provide better fade resistance.

A turbo timer keeps the engine running. You can't run the oil pump without the engine running.
