WRX, obviously. However, the G35 is MUCH MORE luxurious. Get the g35. Best bang for your buck.

I agree. At the end of the day, the WRX is still a Subaru.

EDIT* 2004 G35 Coupe

WRX:
300hp@6000
3263lbs

G35
280hp@6200
3,416 lbs (base model)

Specwise i don't see how the G35 car would be faster. It's more of a grand touring car anyway.

Whoa since when did the American WRX have 300 hp??? Is this the new model with new headlamps?

EDIT: bah, those are STi specs you're quoting...not even the same ballpark as a stock WRX...

I agree. G35 is more appealing and when you say you have a Suburu, girls might ask "What's that?".

Now when you say BMW, Lexus, and now Infiniti ... that might trigger their interest.

WRX STI would spank it. Otherwise the G35 probably be a bit better once you got it going.

Course a WRX is $24k and a G35 is much more. Different ballpark - unless you're talking STI.

it is a no brainer if i was talking about STI, the G35 dont even stand a chance against STI...

95 maxima gle with auto tranny spanks both, so it's moot

Well... I'm assuming it's the STi since their in the same price range. Even then... they're still different kind of cars.

The G35 Coupe (especially with a manual) should be able to beat a non-STi WRX, although it would be very, very close.
However, it is easier to launch the WRX because it has AWD, which is why it may have felt faster to you.

The WRX isn't God's chariot like people make it out to be. Stock for stock, from a stop, the WRX is only marginally faster if you're willing to do a clutch destroying start. By the end of the 1/4, the G35 would be pulling pretty hard on the WRX. Those cars only put down ~160 WHP, AWD parasitic loss is tremendous. From a roll, the G35 would walk a WRX.

That's why you only race a wrx from a roll

Standard WRX vs. G35 coupe would be almost a dead heat. Edmunds, with its rather conservative testing style, gives a very slight edge to the G35, while Car and Driver, with its car destroying testing style, gives a light edge to the WRX.

edit: yaknow, IMO, anyone who talks about the "parasitic loss" of the AWD in a WRX has never driven one. The real reason why WRX's have trouble from a roll is because of the wide-spaced gear ratios in its 5 speed, combined with some turbo lag. Otherwise, mine pulls clean and hard through 3rd and 4th gears with no "loss" at all. Hell, I feel like the power doesn't even really come on full until 3rd (but then I tend to baby the clutch and tranny).

G35 is faster than the WRX, but not the STi.

There's no way I would take a regular WRX over a G35. Now, if we were talking the STI, it'd be a harder decision (but I don't know if I could live in that guady interior)

I've seen more WRXs at the track than I care to mention and they're not that fast. About half the ones I see there run 15s, nothing incredible. At the track, celica GTSs, integra GSRs hang with the WRXs no problem.
