test drove a twilight blue G35C w/ preformance package and nav system. Not overly impressed, all the money must have went to the engine.

Plasticly interior with cheap cup holders, and no power recline for even the drivers seat? And no power lumbar support?

Strange placement of power seat controls, wierd climate control, have to toggle trough the display, doesn't have dedicated buttons. Why is a 2K Nav system not touch screen?

Lots of power tho, great accel.

Like the car overall but think it doesn't have an interior worthy of a 30K+ car. I can get the car for invoice using VPP so like 31.8 w/o nav 33.6 w/ nav.

I'll problaby wait for 2k5, they addressed the power recline and added 18HP, salesperson said it would be out in late oct? Ppl say they finally updated the interior?

WHat do I drive around now? ES330, wonderful interior but anemic engine, so like the antithesis of the G35. Want to keep it under 40K w/ TTL, any other suggestions? Will look at TL and possibly new 2.0T or V6 A4, only would want a 330Ci so BMW is out of the picture

i carpool in one with my friend, i hate the interior, the cabin is soo noisy and the controls and dash are best described as "uncomfortable" but he likes the power and doesnt care too much about comfort.

to each his own i guess.

i'll be in sort of the same boat soon...

but the 2.0t a4 won't be out till late next year, around the same time as the new 3 series...

if you're considering the 2.0t, the 325 will be the competition price/engine wise.

another one to throw in the mix next year is the new is300 (is350).

i considering the g35c also, but its a little small and i've only had small cars in the past...looking for a little more room.

i don't need to adjust the seat recline that often, but common even a cheapie car has a full power drivers seat.

most likely coupe only, not diggin the look of the sedan, but may consider the G35X depending on which job offer i decide to take, either gonna be in cali or chicago

roomate has the g35 and I think the seats are very comfy. I also see nothing wrong with the climate control system. While there is a lot of plastic it doesn't look bad and I feel its simply something to complain about in an otherwise perfect car.

i complain about the climate control becasue you have to toggle from drivers to passenger to one climate zone, thats just a stupid design underlining the climate zones to know which you are adjusting

i'm interested in seeing the 2k5's aluminum trim

how else would they do it? put more buttons one for each zone and one for both? I guess it just doesn't bother but you make a good point where if your spending the dough you better be satisfied.

thank you for your concern, but if i just wanted to drive fast i'd get a wrx. My complaint is that for a rather expensive car the interior leaves something to be desired compared to what i would say are its peers (TL [ok not really this one], BMW 3, A4, even the IS300 which doens't excalty have a great interior).

How often do you adjust your lumbard support or change the tilt of your seat? Once a year? So why waste money on that? Passenger climate hard to adjust? Good, I wouldn't want my passengers adjusting anything in my car anyways. They should be happy they are getting a ride. Navigation not touch screen? Big deal. Learn to use the buttons. How often do you need navigation anyways? I would forgo that option entirely.

there are only a few luxo sporty coupes available under 40K
Infiniti G35c
BMW 3-series
Mazda RX-8
Toyota Solara
c-class (over-priced)
crossfire (LOL NEVER EVER!!)
pontiac gto (fugly interior)

the 3 series you have to pay for power seats
and it didnt have the nicest interior in the world either i had one
out of all of those i think the TL looks the best
but that was FWD and a sedan

I acutally use teh nav system on a daily basis, on the lexus the screen is on all the time, it also controls the audio system. Its a feature that I like and want, and i would wager that entering in the address by touching the letters is darn faster than entering it with the joystick.

You use the NAV on a daily basis?
Did you just move to where you live now? Get a new job? Seriously, you'd think you could find your way around your own town and your daily commute without having to use the freakin' NAV every single day. Personally, I consider NAV a bling-bling item with little functional value. You want to see where you are, why don't you try actually looking outside your windows?

I just don't understand people who care more about how the interior looks and how the heater works and whether or not the seat has power recline than about how the car performs, handles, brakes, and costs.

Please, go back to your bland, boring Lexus. You haven't adjusted the seat recline in a year but thank God it's got power adjust for when you need it!

I just purchased a G35. when you say the interior felt "cheap", I have to wonder if you were test driving a clother or leather package. I have the leather and I think its extremely nice. But, everyone has an opinion, I dont know why some people are taking yours so personal, hehe.

Anyways, as for the Navi not ebing touch screen, from what I understand is, they went away from it because the previous models/cars were getting dirty and people were mucking them up. So, this would help with the logevity of the LCD. I can only see people eating some mcdonalds and pushing their greasey fingers on the screen. heh.

Because the majority of people just drive the car for transportation. They could care less how it performs in every single aspect. People who care about how the car performs, handles, brakes and costs are the vast minority.
