Uh, since no one knows what the specs are yet, that's a pretty difficult thing to surmise.

LOL 1.5k USD, I've heard that parts in Australia cost like 50% more than they cost in the US...
It's cause they have to make them upside down.

Anybody remember a year ago when the 6800's and x800's were hard to come by and the very first ones were selling for $1000 on eBay. Yeah... same situation here. By fall (if not sooner) they'll be out in quantity and you'll be able to pick up the higher end models for $500-600 and the 6800GT equivalent for $400 or so. I can remember when the 9800XT was over $500 too when it came out. I remember a friend paying $400 for a Ti4600 too. Nothing new about these type of prices on cards that haven't even been officially released yet.

I'm from Australia and you gave a good example of American intelligents with that comment.

That's true about the pricegouging, but people on here are talking about $1500...?!? I just don't think so. I mean, I got my 6800GT in July (which was pretty early) last year for $409, which was just a hair over MSRP. Sure, you pay a premium for being the first on the block with new gear, but not $1500... Besides, rumor has it that nVidia's plan of attack this year isn't the overall fastest card, but the fastest available card. If this works, widespread availability will help keep the prices around MSRP.

Besides, as far as I've seen most tech stuff is slightly more expensive in the UK. But going by those numbers, I'd guess the G70 should cost $550-$600 US. Then again, what do I know?
maybe 600 after a month or 2. initally within the first monthi m guessing 1.5k USD.
yeah itll be £600 odd here too i bet, and the good old currency rate at the minute is
1 GBP = 1.82534 USD
so £600 = $1,095.20 USD
I hate to burst your bubble, but you British almost always pay more for EVERYTHING than people here in America, even when you take the currency rate out of the equation.
i.e. most places that sell R2 DVDs usually have 'em listed at about £15-£20 (from what I've seen) including the VAT. We pay $15-20 here. You see what I'm saying? That's why I think if the G70 is £600 in the UK, it'll be about $600 here.

thats what ive been saying before in other threads about price.....the UK and US pay the same value ... ie numbers.... u pay 600 of your currency, we pay 600 of our currency.
but its all relative, were used to paying that, and your used to paying what u pay.
its probably the same or better in jobs. you may get payed $50K a year for a job, but the same guy doing the same job here will get payed £50K
but when you compare....your $600 exchanges to a rather nice price for us

Looks like his account got hijacked. Sold Nascar replicas before, and then decides to sell a next-gen videocard? I don't think so.
What most likely happened what this guy got phished (the whole Nascar/hillbilly thing is a coincedence, I'm sure), and whoever phished it (probably somebody overseas) is going to make a few quick bucks via a non-refundable payment method (like BidPay, which this scammer has chosen) and then disappear.
There should seriously be a fvcking guide for new eBay members, to show them how to spot an easy scam. Don't just look at somebody's feedback score, INVESTIGATE how they got that score and VIEW THEIR TRANSACTION HISTORY!
