Uh, since no one knows what the specs are yet, that's a pretty difficult thing to surmise.

Yes, I did, and I have my AGP motherboard and P4 Northwood in boxes next to me ready to ship out tomorrow to the winning bidders from ebay. I just ordered an Asus A8N SLI Premium today as well. I am still undecided on the cpu at this point. I still have time to decide between making the dual core investment or to go single core while I wait for the 7-series to become available. I figured I'd go ahead an get the motherboard installed and get the wires on my PSU loomed while I wait. I don't joinz quite so bad for PC gear ever since I got my PowerBook, so I can be patient (at least until HL2: Aftermath). As I said earlier though, if the 7800's are too expensive, I'll settle for an X800XL for a bit.

Anybody remember a year ago when the 6800's and x800's were hard to come by and the very first ones were selling for $1000 on eBay. Yeah... same situation here. By fall (if not sooner) they'll be out in quantity and you'll be able to pick up the higher end models for $500-600 and the 6800GT equivalent for $400 or so. I can remember when the 9800XT was over $500 too when it came out. I remember a friend paying $400 for a Ti4600 too. Nothing new about these type of prices on cards that haven't even been officially released yet.

That's true about the pricegouging, but people on here are talking about $1500...?!? I just don't think so. I mean, I got my 6800GT in July (which was pretty early) last year for $409, which was just a hair over MSRP. Sure, you pay a premium for being the first on the block with new gear, but not $1500... Besides, rumor has it that nVidia's plan of attack this year isn't the overall fastest card, but the fastest available card. If this works, widespread availability will help keep the prices around MSRP.

Looks like theres a 2nd gen pvp on there, and that nvidia now officially supports HDTV out and VIVO natively on the card, as well as dual DVI-I.

Nice featureset.

People were paying over $1000 for PCI Express x800XTPE's on eBay before major retailers had any in stock. This is the same thing. They're not in stock anywhere. You can't buy one right now and have it shipped tomorrow even if you were dumb enough to pay $1500. So don't worry about the stupid price rumors.

$599 retail for 256MB? Ouch. So, we're only going to see the GTX initially?

^ the only price I have seen is that one $649 mwave one that everyone keeps posting the link too. Im sure some people will pay double that to have it a month before the rest of the world but thats a minority of the minority of PC owners.

Looks like his account got hijacked. Sold Nascar replicas before, and then decides to sell a next-gen videocard? I don't think so.

What most likely happened what this guy got phished (the whole Nascar/hillbilly thing is a coincedence, I'm sure), and whoever phished it (probably somebody overseas) is going to make a few quick bucks via a non-refundable payment method (like BidPay, which this scammer has chosen) and then disappear.

There should seriously be a fvcking guide for new eBay members, to show them how to spot an easy scam. Don't just look at somebody's feedback score, INVESTIGATE how they got that score and VIEW THEIR TRANSACTION HISTORY!

maybe 600 after a month or 2. initally within the first monthi m guessing 1.5k USD.

yeah itll be £600 odd here too i bet, and the good old currency rate at the minute is

1 GBP = 1.82534 USD

so £600 = $1,095.20 USD

I hate to burst your bubble, but you British almost always pay more for EVERYTHING than people here in America, even when you take the currency rate out of the equation.

i.e. most places that sell R2 DVDs usually have 'em listed at about £15-£20 (from what I've seen) including the VAT. We pay $15-20 here. You see what I'm saying? That's why I think if the G70 is £600 in the UK, it'll be about $600 here.

thats what ive been saying before in other threads about price.....the UK and US pay the same value ... ie numbers.... u pay 600 of your currency, we pay 600 of our currency.

but its all relative, were used to paying that, and your used to paying what u pay.

its probably the same or better in jobs. you may get payed $50K a year for a job, but the same guy doing the same job here will get payed £50K

but when you compare....your $600 exchanges to a rather nice price for us

Yep the death of pc gaming cometh......

I am the last person to believe PC gaming will die but as long as video cards continue to climb at this ludicrious rate then the Xbox 360 (Well that or the BS3 ) will quickly become the gaming machine of choice.

This time card starting at $700-900. Next time $900-1200. A few more generations down and it takes signing your soul on the dotted line to buy a decent video card for your PC.

Yep, the death of PC gaming cometh.....

At least now many developers can rest assure most advanced PC games can be ported over to the consoles. The Cell however makes that a wild card though. I'd imagine the programming for that CPU to be completly different than a un ordered x86.

No kidding. If I was British, oe at least living there, I'd look for a US site that ships to the UK. There must be at least a few, and even with the shipping, you guys would save bundle. I know when I buy stuff from the UK, the shipping is about equal the the VAT (i.e. it costs me about as much to buy something and have it shipped to the US as it would cost any British person buying from the same place).

Not to mention the many type-o's in the description. At least this card will "supersharge" your "gaimg."

Uh yeah, because NO ONE CAN MAKE A FAKE PDF :disgust:

It may be right, it may not, but even if it is, it's not even full specs.

Sorry, here in the USA we have this thing called "humor". Often, a silly response to a question will create a small bit of humor. In this case it seems to have created a small bit of hate. Though I'm not sure if it's because my humor stinks or you're just grumpy.

I just can't justify paying that kind of money on a video card to play games that end up boring me after a week or two. Take Doom 3 for example... a lot of people upgraded their systems, and ended up becomming bored with the game very quickly. The average game only maintains my interest for a few weeks tops, then I become bored of gaming completely and end up passing my time surfing the Anandtech forums instead. My guess is that many people are the same.
