Damn impressive card just like I knew it would be but now I have to wonder, after spending $600+ on this new beast what games can justify it? I don't know about you guys but I got done with FEAR and Oblivion a loooong time ago and those games are no longer relevant to me. So what new/popular games can justify this much horsepower and cost? Nothing from what I see. It really pisses me off to see great hardware and very little software to take advantage of it, a sign of PC gamings decline I guess. While everyone's been drooling over this card I've been enjoying Gears of War on my 360...sigh.

This has been said countless times before. Prepare for a massive barrage of demanding titles going into 2007. Medieval 2, Crysis, BioShock, Gears of War (according to latest rumors and an interesting Games for Windows kiosk pic in the Holiday 2006 issue of PC Gamer) Spore, etc, etc. PC gaming is far from "dead"

Yea I ordered a 360 Premium, Gears of War, COD3 and Need for Speed carbon just two days ago

I've also got Final Fantasy 12 on the way. And soon will be buying Zelda, Twilight Princess.

Well, I'm officially impressed - no doubt this is the modern equivalent of the r300 when it came out. Lets just hope Ati doesnt pull the modern equivalent of a fx5800 in a few months... :Q

A few more reviews - these use high resolution, HDR, AA, and TRAA/AAA to boot.

I hope AT finally disposes of the usual 1024x768 0x0x drivel they pass for a review these days

And this time we finally have the hardware to tackle those system torturers before they're released.

Don't count on seeing Gears of War for the PC anytime soon, it'll probably take its sweet time like Halo. Spore is going to require the power of a DX10 beast? I don't think so. Like I said, what good/new games right now can justify me spending $600-$650 on a new card? Nothing and thats probably true for 90% of gamers out there. Yes this has been said countless times but the results are quite visible too with top tier PC games quickly drying up and showing up as ports from consoles.

I'm willing to bet alot of these reviews aren't utilizing 8X CSAA or 16x CSAA. That is an obvious new G80 feature that provides quality at much less GPU cost.
Not all games support it, but I am sure some reviewers could have enabled ?enhance the application setting? in certain games and the 8800 would even have better performance at those high resolutions. It's likely many reviewers just used the normal in game AA or msaa unless stated otherwise. This seems like it needs a review/comparison on it's own in the days ahead.

I would have to say the HardOCP testing methodology finally paid off and they did a great review (my fav) especially including lower than uber resolutions and more 4:3, almost making up for their silly core 2 duo review.

Somebody wake up Anand and tell him he forgot to upload the 8800 review.

Precisely, we made sure to use overide and enhance the application to enable these special CSAA modes, as well as TR MSAA and TR SSAA.

Anand's review is pretty technical and all, but the actual benchmarks are lame.
Here's hoping they get that retail unit soon so we can get a proper review.

Yeah, that was meh. Why is everyone so reluctant to overclock - Nvidia doesn't want to have the gap close I guess.

I like HardOCPs review than the others by far.

They showed us what the 8800GTX and the GTS is really capable of. And, can i say this thing whips anything. Playing majority of games using 16xTR AA, and 16xAF at high resolution is just mind blowing.

I didnt expect it to be this punishing.
