7800GT to 7900GT absolutely did not double performance. 7900GT is only slightly faster than a 7800GTX. And a 7800GTX in no way shape or form was anywhere near twice as fast as a 7800GT. Like I said. Keep it real. You are pulling these comments out of some nether region.

Not so for SLI, its simply more mature.
SLI works, but isn't exactly problem free, just swing by the nvidia forums... Funny how you who has neither Crossfire nor SLI seems to be an authority.
like in all forums, what you see there are the clueless, who have a hard time finding the video control panel, let alone adjust anything inside it.
I've found SLi to be a joy to use, frankly and never encountered an "error" that couldn't be corrected with an appropriate setting.
I really don't know why this is being brought up in this thread anyway. If you want to talk about trolls and trolling, look for those who drag nv30 and AEG in at every opportunity, and create a page and a half of troll posts just because i said "nvidia likes to roughly double their performance generation to generation".

As far as my claims about Crossfire sucking, Shaidar from Rage3D could def vouch for that. But I dont know a ton of people with Crossfire because they dont really sell any in comparison to SLI rigs (and good for ATI, because it'd only further their bad rep).
When Crossfire works, it works and is great. My point was, Ackmed has never posted a single thread about Crossfire problems or issues, or a complaint.. when everyone else I know has plenty of reasons to complain about it. Not so for SLI, its simply more mature.
Hmm. I'd never heard that before. Sounds like an issue with either dual monitors or CCC or both. That would be annoying if it was flickering a lot but it sounds like using ATT fixes the problem. The only people that wouldn't help are the Crossfire users who have dual monitors. I have never had that flickering occur except on startup when CCC is initializing. Not sure what the other guys are doing different.
Regardless, the way you talk about the problem makes it sound like a wide-spread epidemic. Not really an accurate description of a problem experienced by only a few people. Certainly not a very good reason why you would never recommend ATI to any of your friends.

Pardon me if I believe not...Unfortunately, for you, it was great from Day One. Believe it or not..
It's not my quote, a heavy Nvidia supporter claimed it.Seriously kid, you do make me laugh though. You always have some petty quote in your sig.
You are telling me this? Practice what you preach hypocrite. You just want to argue and troll around.
If you would take your head out of that green orfice you will see that I am excited about G80 and really hope that it is as impressive as it sounds thus far. I'm itching for a reason to have EVGA supplying me with support for expensive hardware while giving me a good step-up path.I'm looking forward to G80 myself, arent you excited?
Have I argued otherwise?Knowing the bane of your existence- the NV supporters, will be stomping the crap out of your slow X1900 with a Geforce8.
My company? Not so much. A company that contends very well with the competition. Again, it's hard to see how they are dead when DFI has got enthusiasts wrapped around its fingers waiting for the new Lanparty with the RD600 chipset in it. Not to mention a perfected, two-way scalable link interface that suprasses Nvidia's one-way SLI with their upcoming R600 chip, there is still activity between the two compaines and you'd have to be stupid, blind, or heavily-biased to not see it. Why else would Nvidia be so tight-lipped about their G80?Your company is dead already, you just dont realize it yet (doh).
It sucks supporting any "team" which is what you don't get. I like to have what gives me what I want, and don't care one bit what color it is. You on the other hand will blindly follow one and only one company. I've honestly never seen another person so upset with something they don't own.It suck supporting the losing team.

Maybe I should take up proctology. This way, I can figure out how to remove your olfactory unit from Nvidia's butt crack without causing too much trauma for you. Always think of the patient first.
And by the way, Rollo has asked me to give you a message after he read some of your posts.
I quote: "Could you tell Gstanfor he?s on crack- that 7900GT and 7800GTX at stock clocks are about equal?"

Do ask him how his 7800GTX 512 "investments" are going - I reckon he could almost refill his cracks pipe with the proceeds by now...

You're a fool to even suggest this. Someone who would like to save a few dollars. How could you not know this? Oh... nevermind..
P.S. I just signed up for night school proctology classes. Hang in there buddy, help is on the way.
Could be they haven't heard this rumour. Just post it you sad little man.Originally posted by: Gstanfor

Have I even claimed that (apart from streamlining the pipelines) G71 is any different to G70? No, I haven't.
Maybe the reason why Tom's don't have a stock clocked 7900 GT (a rare beast indeed) is because no-one in their right mind buys them!!!
If people couldn't afford a 7900 GT, they bought a 7600 GT until 7900 GS came along. I should know - sell the cards on a daily basis.
You don't hear much about 7600 GT here, but even moreso than 7900 series they are massively, massively popular with Joe Average. They are probably more popular than GF2MX 400 or GF4 4200 at the height of their popularity.
