Yo
To not write a wall, I'll make it quick
Got myself a G933 headset from Logitech (don't blame me, they're currently on big sale from EUR 229.00 to 115€ (they got up a bit cuz sudden demand I guess )
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B015HG77FC/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/g933-7-1-surround-sound-gaming-headset
So, there are 3 options:
1. to plug them via USB which has it's own.. audio thingy
2. to plug the 3.5mm into onboard
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming

SupremeFX 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC
- Supports : Jack-detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel MIC Jack-retasking
- High quality 115 dB SNR stereo playback output
3. to plug it into DAC/amp
Since I am a pleb and didn't read too much about this..
I am guessing, DAC/amp would be best for sound quality (music, vid, etc. (even it's a headSET )) which one to get, I see many from 5$ to 100$ on ebay/amazon, idk what to look for
Would the DAC/amp and motherboard channels provide 7.1 surround or it needs strictly to be via the USB?
ty, still didn't get them, but soon ;D
