A small problem for you guys, if someone would please help me with it.
I have a Gigabyte GA-7VT600-L combined with an AthlonXP 2800+. The board and RAM are both capable of a 200mhz FSB(400Mhz if you include the DDR effect), and so I would like to run my sustem OC/ed to the equivalent of a 3200+, which is the same clock speed, but higher fsb and lower multiplier. My problem is this, although I know how to unlock the multiplier on my barton chip, the Gigabyte motherboard, to my knowledge, has no way of changing the multiplier. No bios settings, no dip switches. I was wondering whether any one has any suggestions for a way of changing the multiplier. A slocket, perhaps?. Anyway, any advice is much appreciated.

I had a similar problem with a GA-7N400 Pro2, it had no multi options and the voltages were very low (capping at 1.65 vcore). The gigabyte software won't help you out either as if the mobo does not allow multi changes the software will not either (it is ncie though to be able to oc from the desktop). The only way to accomplish what you're trying to do would have to behardware related and that's out of range of knowledgeheh. I took the GA-7 back and got an Abit NF7-S which I am much happier with. The reviews of it are great (lots of people report 2.5ghz+ easily with it) and it's very overclocker friendly. If you can afford the money or return the GIgabyte I'd strongly suggest doing that as it will be your best bet to get to 3200 and, if you want, beyond.
