GA EP45-UD3P and "Power Error" Memory Issues

I just replaced my motherboard with the Gigabyte GA EP45-UD3P with current Bios. I have 4 sticks of Dual Channel memory (1 gig each). Two are Corsair and they work fine in the board. Two are Crucial Balistix BL12864AA804.16FD3 1 Gig Sticks, however, and I cannot get them to work at all in any slots, alone or with the Corsair.

I have tried the Corsair in all four slots. Works. Whenever I put the Crucial in any slot (alone or with the Corsair), however, the computer beeps repeatedly and won't boot -- no video, repeated short beeps, fans spin up, stops, does it over agaoin. The beep code says this is a "Power Error." I have tried simply increasing the memory voltage to 2.0. Corsair runs and boot fine. Put in a stick of Crucial and same issue. Why a Power Error - does that indicate someting elese is wrong with the Board vs. a memory error? Any help for a novice is apprecaited.

Running an old e4300 not overlcoked (yet and maybe never at this rate)

That ram should still post at less than 2.2 volts. Have you tested it in another board?

I upped the voltage to 2.2v and it is now running with the RAM installed. I dont have another board to test it on but assume from this it is "working." In upping the voltage, when you get above 2, the Bios shows the numbers in RED.... I assume that is a warning. What will this do to my Corsair sticks that are at 1.9 normallly.

Should I still up the MCH if it is runing now?

And yes, running most current Bios - actaully "FD" - the board is rev. 1.6. http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/BIOS_Model.aspx?ProductID=3137

And Thanks.

I am having the same issue on the same board, I have 2x2GB Crucial Balistix BaBL25664AR80A.16FE5 and they will not boot in slot 3 or 4, only slot 1 and 2. Is 2.2V really safe? Mine are rated for 2.0V at 800Mhz 4-4-4-12. I will try this tonight.

i guess 2.2 vdimm might be ok since the board might undervolt the ram, but i'd try 2.15 first since those sticks are rated for 2.0 even at 1000mhz

i had 3 2x2gb sets of the ballistix and all of them ran @ ~ 2.0 -- 2.10.

2.2V is still in the "safe" range for 24/7 use, but no higher. Also, some airflow over the sticks might not hurt either. However, sometimes stabilizing the north bridge with some extra voltage (+0.1V or +0.2V, i.e. MCH voltage) will actually allow you to lower Vdimm. Try it out; worse that happens is it does squat and you're back where you started.

I will try the increase to the MCH if I can figure that out and see what happens (see if I can lower volts on DRAM). I have my processor now running at 2.7 (9x300) with RAM at stock speed. Seems very stable. Core temps are 40 degrees resting. Max 60. Arctic 7 Cooler.

I finally opted to replace the Ballistix sticks with some matching Corsair sticks. 2x2gig. Had trouble with the beeps when rebooting after tweeks. I am sure it is my inexperience but I need a compuer that just runs so my spouse doesn't call me repeatedly from home saying "the computer is making that noise again and doesn't work"
