Trump is incapable of having an endgame. He's not that bright. He makes it up as he goes, has no vision of a future much less an endgame.
On the contrary. His ability to play the press second-to-none. When he strikes the chords, the response he triggers is not haphazard or blind. There is always a purpose. In these past few weeks, the morsels he has provided to the press has inflamed the populace.

No wonder Trump cannot stand intelligent and achieving Black women!

Ha ha ha!

Stacey Abrams's triumph on turning Georgia Blue and engineering the Dem takeover of the U.S. Senate will become the stuff of political operative and consultant legend.

Oh, please! That "N-dimensional chess" bollox again?

Sure, it 'inflamed [a section of] the populace'. But to what end? What did he hope to accomplish by it? Are you suggesting he _wanted_ a riotous assault on the seat of democracy? I doubt it. He had no idea where to go with this. All he really wants is to convince himself he won by a landslide (as his deleted tweet put it) and only lost due to fraud. Because he needs to defend his narcissistic wound. He wants to believe he's a great success and is loved by millions. If he were doing this deliberately for a calculated political end he'd have played a far, far stronger game and wouldn't now be up the creek sans paddle. He'd be on his way to Fuhrer-hood now. Rather this is pure psychodrama on his part.

The effect it has on his cult followers (the US as a country being not much more psychologically-well-adjusted than Trump) is an unintended side-effect.

I relish the thought of having McConnell witness the dismantling of every wall he put up, of every piece of corporate biased legislation getting reversed, of having legislation passed taking back the freebies to the wealthy he and Trump rammed through Congress, of having to watch legislation that fixes the Repub induced problems they inserted into the ACA......well, you get the point. I hope it gives him peptic ulcers of the cratering kind. He deserves no less.

she deserves all the recognition and acclaim given, but she wasn't alone.

i listen to NPR in Atlanta at work a lot and have heard interviews with many of the amazing leaders of these organizations, most being black women. it should be noted that the Republican door to door ground game in GA continued during the pandemic while the Democrats stopped for months. i hope someone makes a behind the scenes documentary on it, preferably Frontline.

I love her attitude. She's engineered a coalition, she's quite the opposite of The Donald, who's philosophy is to sow division.

Welcome to desecrated America. Wear a clown mask.

13 days until the current administration is jettisoned! ... or sooner if we're smart.

From a piece in today's New York Times:

The duty of the House of Representatives and the Senate, once they certify Joe Biden’s election, is to reconvene, Wednesday night if possible, to impeach the president and then remove him from office and bar him from ever holding office again.

If that's the one I read, I thought it was a pretty on-point article - and seemed less wishy-washy than is typical for the NYT. It was like the sound of liberals waking up.

Trump and Mitch's packing of federal courts will have lasting effects for a decade or two. It's far from quick or easy to reverse the damage the GOP has wreaked in 4 long years; the only solace is that it wasn't worse because Trump is too dumb and erratic to build strong coalitions. And besides, Mitch doesn't have to witness shit. He can choose between obstruction (with less effect in the minority party), or he could slink away and resign well before his term ends, citing some bullshit about spending time with family. When the going gets tough and GOP leaders are exposed as useless and powerless, they often flee off to some corporate lobbyist job instead (see John Boehner, Paul Ryan).

We on the Left have always been awake. But we've made some terrible mistakes, too.

Not fully supporting Hillary in 2016 when so many stayed home was the biggest.

It's still not over. Trump has more than a week left.

Well, he did last longer than Loeffler.

That’s not saying much, as Laugh-at-her folded like an unsupported tent in a wind storm. I am sure she really feels good about her statements on Monday saying she would contest the election while trying to get elected. Seems like such wizardry.

Trump is a misogynist first and a racist second, or maybe...
Trump is a racist first first and a misogynist second.

When it is a competent black woman, or competent woman who is black his head explodes.

THE win would have been him being voted out. The rednecks of KY failed the US there.
If you look at the stats of votes for Beshear a Dem ect. well the numbers dont quite add up. I lost the page that had them compiled. But I did post some of them in one of these threads.

In the county I live in, in 2019 Gov race, 692 Dems voted. In 2020 603 voted Dem.

2019 Gov 2047 voted Rep, 2020 4280 voted Rep.
According to the above link 6555 are registered Rep, 1088 registered Dem.

The next county over, 2019 503 Dem / 1418 Rep, 2020 508 Dem 2769 / Rep. 4426 registered Rep, 769 registered Dem.

The Dem voted is relatively similar, but the R practically doubled.

Do not doubt KY's ability to shenanigan.

Georgia is really the feel good story of this election.

Watching Killer Mike in this Video really cheered me up, after a couple of days stressing over recent events:

Kudos to him, to Stacey Abrams, to the Atlanta Dream WNBA Team, and to Georgia voters.

And hip-hop got out! as he said. That's awesome. Killer Mike appearances is one of the few reasons I like Bill Maher's show.

The top Federal prosecutor in Atlanta who resigned?
The orange menace COVID-19 accomplice serial killer made him do it.

White House pushed top federal prosecutor in Atlanta to resign: WSJ

"In a recording obtained by numerous media outlets, Trump appeared to complain during the call about Pak without naming him, saying there was a “Never Trumper U.S. attorney” in Georgia.

The Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, said that at the behest of the White House, a senior Justice Department official called and told Pak he needed to step down because he was not pursuing the voter-fraud allegations to Trump’s satisfaction."
