Since 1931, only 4 Republicans have served as governor of Kentucky, and no Republican governor has ever been re-elected. So please spare the cross-over vote. Repub. gov's in KY are not common, at least in the last ~90 years.
Yet how many times has KY elected Republicans in the last 20 years to the Senate? How often have they won re-election?

I'm still hoping for the best outcome for both Georgia and the whole country, which would be Democratic victories for both seats.

But this is Kemp's Georgia, and undermining elections is what repugs do. Even the ones with some ethics will turn right around and support different voter suppression efforts, as long as they have new packaging, a la Raffensberger.

So I expect the Dems will lose, regardless of turnout. There is too much on the line for repugs there and nationally if they lose. We are dealing with a cult that is hostile to democracy, wants nothing more than to impose evangelical views on the entire country. May the black community and people who want better for Georgia prove me wrong.

Not a fan of any faith leader holding office as a rule of mine, but I would be glad to be represented by a fighter like Ossoff. A spineless crook taken to racism like Purdue? Not so much, sounds more like trash that needs pickup to me.

I don't think the average republican even realize that they are working against our democratic institutions. All the GOP wants is power and they'll do anything to get it. It's just gone from bad to worse over the past 40 years. As Jhhnn routinely points out - the agitprop pushed by the GOP is just driving that wedge deeper and deeper.

People with faith (jewish, muslim, christian, buddist, etc.) don't bother me at all; a pastor or mullah or rabbi - not a fan either.

David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler now support the $2K stimulus checks. I suppose this is some sort of half-hearted attempt to make Georgians feel like they really care about them. They probably think McConnell will not allow a vote to come to the floor of the Senate so supporting it was the only option if they thought they could win on 1-05.

Well, at this moment, nothing is happening on the floor of the Senate. Tomorrow is just another day.

David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler DO NOT support $2000 stimulus checks and DON’T YOU DARE BELIEVE THEM when they claim that they do. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are your typical anti middle class republicans who lie to get elected then fall in line with whatever Mitch McConnell wants. Come on people, you know they are lying to your face to fool you into voting for them. I can guarantee that if David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler win this runoff that not only will Americans never see their $2000 check, the American people will see no more checks at all for any amount from a Republican controlled and Mitch McConnell lead US senate. If the control of the senate was not in play, we would hear nothing about stimulus checks from any Republican in the house or the senate. You know this, we all know this. Mitch McConnell has only one goal in mind after Joe Biden takes the presidency, that is to stop anything and everything that president Joe Biden wants to do and that absolutely includes no more stimulus for Americans, PERIOD! No $2000 checks, no more $600 checks, not even a one dollar check would Mitch McConnell, Perdue or Loeffler allow to happen. PEOPLE... THESE ARE REPUBLICANS, we all know the agenda of congressional republicans, to force middle class taxpayers pay for tax cuts for the very wealthy. Georgia citizens, if you dare fall for this republican senate con and dare elect David Perdue or Kelly Loeffler on January 5th then every American across the country will have to come down there to Georgia and kick your ignorant ass.

In the county I live in, in 2019 Gov race, 692 Dems voted. In 2020 603 voted Dem.

2019 Gov 2047 voted Rep, 2020 4280 voted Rep.
According to the above link 6555 are registered Rep, 1088 registered Dem.

The next county over, 2019 503 Dem / 1418 Rep, 2020 508 Dem 2769 / Rep. 4426 registered Rep, 769 registered Dem.

The Dem voted is relatively similar, but the R practically doubled.

Do not doubt KY's ability to shenanigan.

I think Georgia Repubs should boycott the election because of the rigged voting machines, fake ballots & Venezuelan mind control algorithms. Just looking at a ballot with mess with your mind. Layers & patterns, man. Believe only Trump!
Don't forget the Russians and their $99.99 election interference social media budget. I'm very disappointed that Russia forget to rig the 2020 election like they did in 2016.

Donald Trump Attacks Brad Raffensperger's Brother—He Doesn't Have One
Yet another can Donald Trump be this fucking stupid moment. "President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday night to criticize Republican officials in Georgia, including Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger for failing to investigate unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud in the state." "The president also criticized Raffensperger's brother, saying he works for China. However, Raffensperger doesn't have a brother, as many social media users were quick to point out."
"I love the Great State of Georgia, but the people who run it, from the Governor, @BrianKempGA, to the Secretary of State, are a complete disaster and don't have a clue, or worse. Nobody can be this stupid. Just allow us to find the crime, and turn the state Republican," Trump wrote.
"
"Now it turns out that Brad R's brother works for China, and they definitely don't want 'Trump'. So disgusting!" the president added in a second tweet.
Trump is likely referring to Ron Raffensperger, CTO of Chinese technology firm Huawei. The two men are not related."
Apparently there is also some sort of conspiracy theory mixed in with this as well. You can''t make this shit up.

There were Russia-linked influence and hacking campaigns in 2020. The difference is that internet companies like Facebook, Google and Twitter were ready for them this time and took down the content before it could spread far.

I don't think social media influencing played a huge role in the 2016 election, but it definitely didn't stop in 2020.

Just noticed that Trafalgar Group -- a pro-Republican org — now gives Ossoff and Warnock the lead in the Senate runoffs.

Of course, nothing's settled until the actual vote, but it's good sign if the outfit that routinely overestimated Trump's chances thinks the Democrats have a slight edge. And given how McConnell has been hampering pandemic relief, an Ossoff/Warnock win might be vital to putting the country back on track.

I've got as much faith in those polls as I did in the SC/NC ones. Heck, I may have had *more* faith in those. And I know how that went. That said, can't think of a better opening to 2021 than headlines telling me that (D)emocrats gained senate majority.

Oh, I'm not assuming they'll reflect the final tally! They just give me hope. Trafalgar was the pollster that simply assumed there was a large-enough "hidden voter" contingent to hand Trump a comfortable win regardless of state, and I doubt it has rechecked its assumptions in the past several weeks.

That and the trend for polls has been to shift toward Ossoff and Warnock. I'm just hoping the trend continues.

If Ossoff and Warnock win we could impeach Trump again. Probably still wouldn't get the necessary votes in the Senate to convict, but we could get every Republican on record that voted against it and hopefully get them voted out of office. They could then ban Trump from ever running for office again. Or with control of the Senate they could pass a law that bans any President from ever running again if they had even been just impeached and not necessarily convicted. Not sure that would hold up with SCOTUS if contested though.

You gain nothing with that. You'd still need a super majority and you won't get it. The GOP senators that voted to keep him in place aren't going to get voted out. Their voters *WANT* that behavior. All you do is give GOP media more headlines to froth over.

You want to go for the jugular, you start squeezing states financially. GOP tax bill was a direct shot fired at blue states. They want to play that game, time for dems to start playing hardball with them. Start shutting down services to red states with federal dollars if they get a majority. Make them sweat a bit. You want to send a message, send a real message. You don't want to be a part of democracy, fine. Try it without federal funds for a while.

I'd settle for an effort to expel any member of either chamber that tried to work the silly.

On denying aid .... no. A better angle would be to provide direct aid to citizens affected, but not to state or local governments.

Trafalgar are totally partisan. If they're giving Ds the lead, its either to light a fire under the Republican electorate or change it close to the election to show that Republicans are "making a comeback" or "turning it around" a day or two before the elections. That'll skew the charts on sites like Real Clear Politics.

I certainly wouldn't rule that out. Mind you, that's also an oddly sophisticated strategy for a poll group that didn't bother changing its methods after it was shown to be wildly inaccurate in 2018's Georgia governor election. We have to be careful not to assume they're playing 4D chess when they may only be playing checkers.
