I'd expect better from you than to spread the Karl Rove version of fear the Muslims...

Actually I am not slamming freedom of religion!!
What I am saying is that when religious laws conflict with state or federal laws...you take your head covering off and you have your identification photo taken and then you put on your head covering again!!

There is noway I am advocating doing away with Freedom of Religion!
As in America there have been instances where people claim their religion requires them to do things that are against the law.....they have been required to cease and refrain from doing those things......

My examples were specific to the Religion of Islam and in those cases they need to do as the State requires if need to have an identification card or even drivers license or whatever else a picture of needed!

Then in some Muslim communities in Europe they have tried to circumvent the laws of the land by forming their own Muslim courts......

Interesting subject!

But no I am not nor will I ever advocate abolishing Freedom of Religion!

But that doesn`t mean that your religious rights take precedent over the laws of the land.

In ALL religions Gods law is greater than any man made law and you KNOW that. -- YES that is true!! That has been a huge issue with the solution being as I described above!

Peace!

That said, Muslims really need to get their collective heads out of their arses and realise that this isn't the middle ages.

Have you seen how most of them live? They ARE still in the middle ages. Thankfully cellphones, TVs, etc. are now becoming cheap and ubiquitous enough to help them come into the 21st century, but it's gonna take awhile.

There is so much wrong in this post that i don't know where to start, the courts are civilian courts, much like Catholic courts or JW courts, family courts for Orthodox Jews or congregation courts for the variety of sects out there, it's not unique to the Muslims and it has no bearing in law, both parties go to court and unless both parties agree with everything it's not legally binding, if it IS legally binding it's because both parties agree with the civilian courts decision and sign a contract.

OF COURSE our laws supercede theirs, they don't think so but they still do, they are still dragged to court for commiting crimes, they are still prosecuted under the law of the land just like everyone else, religion doesn't matter in this instance. Same thing for ID's or drivers licences, they can want whatever they please but if they want an ID or a drivers licence they will have to follow the law.

And you know what? For the most part, THEY DO.

We have a problem with radicalisation of Muslims (as does the US), there is no doubt about that and the reason is that the resources for terrorists are not in the hands of the likes of Al Quaida anymore, it's in the hands of our own citizens who choose to affiliate themselves with terror groups, this will become a greater problem in the future and it's one reason something has to be done about African organisations like Al Shabab.

ALERT: Good thread topic being derailed by morons.
QFT

I wish a lord of war would chop off your hands. And then chop off your man-boobs and use them as ear warmers.
LMAO You, sir, are a god among men.

For the record, I often dislike the Beeb's reportage but I am categorically against their reporters, with or without man-boobs, being beaten and tortured. And I'd be in favor of a UN-sponsored no-fly zone to help out the rebels, as long as it's not practically American-only and is volunteer service. I doubt there will be any thanks from it, but I think it would be the right thing to do. People should be free of dictators and oppression, even people who are fundamentally anti-American.

Having spent almost a decade among them in Afghanistan and Iraq i'd say that i am fairly well educated on this matter.

They are exactly where they want to be, especially those who believe that all technology is a threat to their way of life.

It's going to be via NATO, the same organisation that already has forces on the ground today.

China and Russia will block the UN resolution to make it happen so it has to go via NATO.

Well, better NATO than just the USA. The same nations would be providing the pointy end anyway.

There's SAS on the ground along with three other NATO members forces so it kinda involves NATO already, France gets to take the heat for driving this through if unsuccessful, if successful it'll be the US that takes the credit for it as usual.

There are already Mirage planes marking the ground to air artillery sites.

If i'm right, and sometimes i am, i'd say that the US will be low key on this one and stick behind the NATO flag rather than leading it into battle.

I did not know that, but sounds good to me.

They are in deep dodo is where they are. Those who refuse to change with the times become extinct.

I think you are right.

Otherwise, I find myself wondering if enforcing a no-fly zone now isn't 'too little, too late'. I fear Khaddafy will win any way.

SAS left Libya with their tails between their legs after being captured by a rag tag bunch of rebels.

Furthermore, to believe that a member of one of the world's most elite military forces would come on a public message board and discuss ongoing covert actions in a sovereign country defies all logic and concepts of operation security.

In summary, JoS is FoS as usual. It's got to be a hard, rugged lifestyle.... you know, pretending to have been in Afghanistan & Iraq for the past decade.

You butthurt about Team Blue stealing your thunder? You do realise that there are still Eagles and SAS on the ground in Libya along with the other groups? Of course not, what you know is what you get from US Reports and the net...

Or are you butthurt because of something else you little twat?

None of what i say has anything to do with anything not cleared, you'll read about it next week as usual.

Gadaffi has no chance any more, it's over and done with, he's out, the only question is how long it'll take for him to either die or realise that he has to surrender.

Even Russia has frozen his assets, no ammo deliveries from anywhere now and the EU is about to recognize the opposition as the rulers of Libya.

Next up, so will the US at which point the US cannot be seen as the driving force.

No one's stealing my thunder, I'm not Special Forces. I do, however, have about 4000 times as much credibility here as you. You don't really think anyone here believes that you're in the SAS, do you? Any time the crowd rises up against you and starts pointing out all the holes in your story and asking for proof that you're even in the UK military, you vanish from the thread. Ridiculous claims like that you take your military weapons home with you in England really don't help your cause. If you're going to tell tall tales, at least try to make them believable.
