I can agree with Texashiker, but there is one unaccounted for Gaddafi son, who is already under indictment by international war crimes tribunals. Maybe he will escape the fate of his daddy, and instead spent the rest of his life imprisoned at the Hague.

I'm torn on this, not as much as Gaddafi's butthole, but alas, I'm conflicted. I don't mind prison retrobution and captial punishment, I do however think everyone needs to be put on trial for their crimes. Now that he's dead, he doesn't have to stand trial for his actions he got out easy. More fitting would have been for him to go months if not years of people testifying against him, and him living all that time knowing he was going to be executed.

I dont like to see death.

A few years ago I was on the irc and clicked a link someone posted to a russian soldier being beheaded by rebels. It happened very quickly and it really messed me up to see such violence. From that moment on I have been very strict in what I watch as I dont like being subjected to that kind of stuff. I never want to become desensitized to violence in the way I see a lot of people are. I'm not asking to limit peoples ability to view these things. All I want, and I believe the forums are with me on this is some kind of warning instead of a embedded picture with no warning.

Do I like violent movies? Yes. As an adult I know the difference.

Well only time will tell if this "Arab Spring" will do any good to the people in those countries. Some Asian countries have gone through similar exercise, Philippines with Marcos, Indonesia with Suharto. But in the end, instead of one family stealing from the country, it's bunch of powerful and connected families stealing from the country, nothing much has changed.

And without a strong armed dictator, some mob and extremist are getting their way. Those extremist Muslims in Indonesia is running around the country and burning down houses of people worshiping something those mobs do not approve, and beating/arresting those violating their Sharia laws.

Not all changes worked out for the better and democracy and self determination may not work in all countries.

The last thing on earth the US wants is democracy in places like Egypt. They know their business (MIC, financial et al) interests would take a huge hit, not to mention the US Zionist foreign policy would go to hell.

That's why the US, as per normal, supports the Egypt military takeover after the ousting of Mubarak.

The recipy is standard. Deal with a handful of fat cats (like Mubarak), give them a huge cut but pocket the real money for yourselves, then send in the IMF for 'austerity measures' for the people, who are being robbed blind with no say whatsoever in the matter. Business as usual.
