I have gone down from 305 to 260 since I started college, and I can run a mile or so in like 9 and a half mins, so I'm not THAT out of shape. But still, people who are underweight suck. Enjoy being underweight, jump high and do flips and crap like that I'll never be able to do. As to how you can gain weight- MMORPG will do it. Evercrack, world of warcraft, FFXI, whatever. You'll gain weight.

I know my metabolism will eventually slow down...I saw it happen to my brother.

Well you have no problems then.

YOur metabolism will slow down and you will gain some weigt.

Eat lots of EVERYTHING and do some training.

I use to be stick thin at 10 lol. Saw an old family video and DAM I was thin! I was thin up until about 15 when I started to train. Now I've thickened out.

Some junk food and chocolate won't go a miss. It only hurts you when you eat it 3x a day and you are already overweigiht...

College = skip class = breakfast by 9am = beer by noon = drunk by 5pm = all U can eat buffet = more beer till midnight = late night snack of McDonald's value meals = sleep. Repeat cycle next day. Guaranteed to put on weight with only 3 meals a day.

If you're lacto-ovo then cottage cheese, milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, and egg whites are the way to go. Get 15-20 pounds of unflavored whey and mix it in with everything. Sweet potatoes, plain potatoes, rice pudding, any baked goods, OATMEAL, etc.

If you eat fish, then tuna and salmon are the way to go. Just look at the grams of protein/dollar ratio in a can of tuna. Best bang for the buck. Pretty much all protein, too.

Oh, and you should be lifting like everyone else said. 2-3x a week with no additional cardio (don't worry about getting fat, it'll come off in no time once you've got muscle). When you lift, lift heavy. Like BB Squats so hard you throw up kind of heavy. Don't go to failure until your final work set.

These are just some basic guidelins. Look into HIT and HST. Read everything you can at bodybuilding forums, and the HST forums. Oh, and spend all your money on solid foods and whey. You don't need supplements to get big.
But wont the supplements give you vitamins, minerals, complex carbs, amino acids, etc, that you wont get enough of from the foods you suggest? Also isnt such a high protein diet is bad on the kidneys? And tuna has a lot of mercury in it.
Please tell us what HIT and HST are.

Of course the foods I suggested aren't a complete diet. It goes without saying you should be eating enough carbs (perferably greens and fruits) to prevent ketosis minimum. The point is that with a proper diet built on whole foods you won't need supplements. Yes, tuna has lots of mercury in it but even at 3 cans a day he won't get mercury poisoning.

HIT = High Intensity Training.
HST = Hypertrophy Specific Training.

Did you notice the text at the very end of the post saying that it was just some basica guidelines and that the poster should read as much as possible at outside sources?

Got it.

I can't imagine eating 3 cans of tuna a day, considering the mercury, or if not just because I'd get sick of the taste. Considering mercury is one of the most toxic substances known to man, there are some that argue that any amount of mercury in your system is mercury poisoning. And if you have amalgam dental fillings, add the amount of mercury your getting from them to the tuna intake.

My weight has stayed constant....because of certain time commitments and random craziness I had to put my workout on hiatus...I'm gonna try doing starting it up again, tomorrow. But then again, I'm donating blood tomorrow....

He's not overly huge but he's pretty big - Kevin of the Tonight Show Band (Jay Leno's band) - the guitarist is vegan and he's a pretty big guy. I don't know who would say vegans can't get buff. I know a few at the gym.

I have the same problem. I have always been skinny, but I lost a lot of weight last year at college and was severely underweight. Now I've been trying to gain weight all summer by eating more at a time than I used to (I used to not eat very large portions of anything at all, but I would graze on little stuff all day long) and drinking ensure plus. The I actually like the chocolate ensure so that's a plus, and get thekind that are for weight gain because they contain a lot of protein and calories.

Result: Weight gain. Usually around 15-20lbs in a few months time.
