Eh, that's all a bit simplistic. I know the folklore is that Samsung just copies Apple... that case might have been made in the galaxy S2 days.
But since then, apple hasn't actually been in the same product universe as Sammy. The Note itself is something Apple would never have done on it's own... a wacom enabled phablet ... please.
Apple's own plus phones are a me-too answer to what Samsung and others pioneered- and as I've read reviewers with a strong design background point out, apples larger devices are only that ... larger devices. There's not a single feature (like the s-pen for example) that makes them need to be larger other than "hey, we make a bigger phone too!"
The note 7 may be a fiasco ... but at least Samsung has pushed the envelope through 6 iterations of the device (as a sideline to their main Galaxy phones) to have evolved the note 7 into an incredible design packed with way more features and innovation, and more forward thinking design than the iPhone 6S pt 2... oh sorry... the 7.
Looks like they made a pretty big blunder, but at least it was in the course of pushing forward, not being Mr Play It Safe like the fruit company.
But once more ... maybe im being unfair in my assessment that Apple's not actually even in the same league as Samsung. I guess I'll have to check out all the stuff they try before I make such a judgement huh? Like that Apple VR... Apple 360... a couple generations of Apple edge screens, their pen enabled phones, their ruggidized phones, their awesome wireless charging integration, their multiple generations of smart watches that came out years before others...
...oh wait, hey there's that svelt new battery case for the iPhone 7... what do they call that? The iPregnant ? Innovative!
Sheesh, so much sarcastic anger - someone need a hug?
