That is the recall number, they are giving me a refund of 879.99 in a check in 10-14 business days and I am a 2nd hand owner

So I have the recalled version, do I sit on it and hope it sees a price spike since you cant get one or try and get a refund? I am not the original owner though, it is paid in full and Att gave the unlock code for it
So, would selling one be constituted as illegal? I wonder what these will be worth eventually. I got mine through work so it didn't cost me a dime. I wonder if a year from now there will be some underground demand for it. I'll probably switch it out for another android flagship phone but there really isn't one I want right now as I already have an S7 Edge.
Illegal? I don't know, but personally I think it would be morally corrupt to resell it.

Just get a replacement with another phone or a refund, whatever's most appropriate.

BTW, this is on a much smaller scale, but I had discarded my remaining eBay or small shop sourced fake Apple USB chargers, because they could represent electrical hazards. I didn't give them to friends, nor did I bundle them with devices when I sold them to third parties. They just went in the garbage, or else to Apple when they had their charger replacement program.

Bah, i'm gonna swap my Note 7 for the LGV20 when thats out. Really sucks that there is no equal to the Note 7. I already sold and/or gave away my other notes.

There must be an easy way to at least remove the battery. I would pursue the option to buy a smaller, thinner battery for the phone in a back alley from an ex Samsung Employee. Or I would still keep using the S7 Note, and just keep it in a bomb proof shelter while wearing a bomb vest and gas mask.

But what if someone has the source of the original smaller capacity battery, and replacing it does fix the issue? Completely fixed Galaxy Note 7's popping up on the market would be priced ludicrously high, and people would buy them. It will become a collectors item, possibly holding its value for some time.

Be clear...how many of these things actually exploded compared to how many were made and sold and purchased and used for any amount of time?

I wonder if they are all set to fail or if it's just a certain manufacturing defect that's causing it.

Uh, individuals in their basements are not going to be able troubleshoot this with any accuracy. If Samsung themselves couldn't do it after weeks of looking at these phones and investigating their own production facilities, why do you think some phone geek with 3 Note 7 units in his bedroom is going to be able solve the mystery?

Would you really trust some guy on Kijiji telling you that the Note 7 he has for sale there is fine because he swapped in a different battery? Really? The only way this would make any sense at all would be Samsung came right out and said that was the specific problem, and that was the permanent fix, but I highly doubt that's going to happen.

I just don't understand why people are being so irrational about the Note 7. The phone design appears defective somehow and we already know they are going up in smoke. And, Samsung is telling people to return them, NOW. They are also offering refunds and replacements, so the decision is easy. Return it and get your money back or get a replacement with another phone.

i wouldn't be surprised to see updates that actually shut them down, or give you a nag screen every 10 minutes. Samsung will want them all back to limit their liability. There's nowhere t

Also thinking the Note line is dead. Hopefully in name only, and will have to rebrand the next device as the 'Pro' line, such as the S8 Pro.

A shame. The Note 4 was perfect, and the 7 was close to perfect. Not sure how this got botched so terribly. Gotta be something with cramming that large a battery into a phone with no bezels and an s-pen.

Guess I'll be switching to an S7 Edge. I'll certainly miss the s-pen though.

Samsung is down to 1.554 million won, compared to 1.706 million won just last Friday, a drop of 9%.

I read somewhere that the Korean government is in panic mode, and is offering about thirty bux compensation to its citizens each if their replacement phones for the Note 7 are Korean ones. I can't find the article now though.

Where's Achtung when you need him? We need an update on Samsung's stock price.

Probably inconsolable.

Seriously, this is the danger of investing so much of your self-worth in a company, whether it's Samsung or Apple or Microsoft: all your cheerleading and gloating looks foolish if your company of choice does something stupid. It doesn't get more ridiculous than Samsung pushing hardware design too far and botching a recall so badly that it has to kill one of its most important products two months after it goes on sale.

Got off the phone with Verizon wireless. The V20 should be out next week and they already notified my nearest store that I will be in to swap it out. Sigh, I already miss my note. And I gave my Note 3 to my mother and my Note 4 to the wifey.

I don't know why people have loyalty or love for companies. Companies have no love or loyalty to you.

Use products you like until you no longer like them and switch to another product that you like.

Like products for what they actually do for you and real value, rather than hype, popularity, fanboyism, etc.

Anything else just makes you a sucker to be exploited.

what happens to us that got1 and the second one on a bogo (buy one get one) offer they had?

If i swap both my note7's to s7 edge, do i lose the BOGO deal on the second one that i got for my note?
This is really ticking me off, because if thats the case id rather not have bought mine from ATT on there stupid NEXT plans, and would of gotten the s7e on ebay for a cheaper price.

What a mess. To recall an already recalled device is bizarre (but the right thing to do) and I hope Samsung is transparent in all this and keep us informed what the problem was.

the V20 looks interesting, if I have to give up my Note 7. (I'm not until I absolutely have to).

I'll wait it out for the Huawei Mate 9. That thing is looking like it's gonna be a monster.
