C'mon, who else is excited for this thing? The mobile space has been pretty boring for a while now. Few are pushing the envelope of what's possible, vs. being "feature stingy" using the established "don't give em too much" business model.
I'd like to see Samsung knock this out of the park. The Note 9 shouldn't be for the person that takes 3 photos a year, has no clue his phone even shoots 4k video, asks questions like "who needs more than 16GB of storage?" thinks notches are cool, is satisfied with just Bluetooth sound quality, never thought of using a pen on a screen, etc....
I hope Samsung has made the Note for the opposite crowd- those that want everything possible in the year 2018 in a phone.
512GB of internal storage? Yes.
SD allowing another 512GB potential? Sure. Why not finally a TB in my pocket. (Eventually I want my phone to be a high speed backup device for my desktops and laptops. Why the hell not?)
8GB of RAM? Let's have it!
The best set of dual cameras possible? Yes!
New and better S-pen tech? If you insist.
No dumb notches, 2014's bezels, missing jacks/function touted up as "features!'? Heck yes.
Can I have it for $800? No? $1000? No? $1200!!?!
..... well...
If Samsung delivers the freakin' BOSS of smartphones with at least most of the above, I'll pony up whatever the asking price is. Even $1200.
I just want it to be WORTH that much to me, not a $350 phone that costs near as much because of hype.
I'm excited for the August 9th reveal.
Rumor has it, it may be the last Note device. I can see how it's getting harder to sell a $1000+ premium device when a lot of people are perfectly happy with a $300 'good enough' device. Still, if it's the last hurrah for a truly monster smartphone, for the niche market that still wants these, I hope they make it an absolute beast of a device!
