Just how massive do you find your phone? I am seriously thinking of jumping ship to Verizon from ATT and getting the Note II. Reviews are saying it's insanely fast with comparable battery life which is what I found Android devices to be lacking compared to the iphone.

Do you feel weird talking on the phone with it?

Same boat here. Was really disapointed when I found out Verizon didn't get the Lumia 920 and really have my interest perked on the Note 2. Looks like a truely innovative device and I can think of a lot of uses of the s-pen for work related things. Still a little scared by the shear size of the thing coming from a diminutive iPhone 4.

Debating buying one myself and getting rid of my HTC Titan. Which is already a pretty big phone but finding WP7 very lacking in finance apps.

I've been eyeing the note 2 myself... was eyeing the note 1 for a terribly long time but bit on the htc one x instead... I'm currently in the process of selling my one x so that I can outright purchase a note 2... Currently on straight talk and so far so good. $45/month on hspa+ is ok for me. ATT would be $90 or more for me per a month.

The dual app on same screen multitasking is super sweet and apparently it has gobs of battery life. I am tired of my iphone 4 and after playing with the iphone 5 I found it to be really meh.

I love my Note. It's huge and it was laggy in 2.3 (it's somewhat better in ICS) but completely made up for that by having an easy to read screen, large targets for my clumsy thumbs (especially nice for typing) and I use it to take notes as well.

Some people will make a big deal about how it looks (and it does look ridiculous when you're using it as a phone) but honestly, I'm past the point where I care that much about what people think.

I waited for the Note to arrive in the USA but then, when it had the lesser uP I opted to get the SGNexus instead. But, I WILL be switching the SGNexus for the SGNote2 when it becomes available.

I'd prefer an open/unlucked model as free of crapware as possible but it must operate well on Verizon's LTE network...

Just look at youtube videos. Plenty of people hold them and show them next to other objects. You can get a good feel for the bulk.
Also, I think the note 2 is just a tad larger.

My uncle has the original Note and uses a bluetooth headset to talk on it so he never had problems. That's how I talk on the phone as well so I'd have no problem with large phones either. He's 49 so he's definitely not a techie, he just loves the large screen.

Hey hey, I'm 56 as of last week and have been a techy all my life

I will almost certainly be swapping out my SGNexus for the SGNote2 when it becomes available. I'll have had the SGNexus for less than a year, but I've wanted the Note since I read about it at last years IFA. The second version should address most of the weaknesses of the first version and have an even larger screen.

Can't wait.

I remember later last year after the original Note was announced that many folks here laughed at it and were so sure it would be a flop -- turns out it was the second most successful Sammy phone and the 3rd overall so who's laughing now -- certainly not Apple!!!

Surprisingly I think I'm looking forward to the new software features on the Note 2 nearly as much as the hardware. The split screen multitasking in particular looks incredibly useful and I could see myself using the browser popup a lot too.

One of my favorite features was the ability to take notes on the screen while in a call. I can't count the number of times that I've been on call for work and at the grocery store or something and get a call and have no good way of writing down a phone number or name of a user to call back or a description of what is happening.

Yeh, on my current phone I could drop into a note and thumb type info in, but using a pen and scribbling away right on the phone is so much easier.

Love my note and dont think it looks funny when using it as a phone, I could never drop down to a smaller screen held a Galaxy 3 and just thought way to small.

The Note 2 does look like an interesting device once one gets over the size of it.

Some of the software features are interesting to say the least. Eagerly awaiting to play around with one once available. Not sure if I'll buy it at launch but am currently debating it....Figure I could pass my SGS2 down to the wife and use her upgrade

I'm fairly certain that I'm going to pick up the Note 2 when my current contract expires in a bit over a month. I've played with my friend's Note 1 and it really isn't that large. It easily fits in my hand and doesn't look that ridiculous when held up to someone's head

My only concern with it is that the exynos processors haven't had their documentation released by Samsung, so I don't believe there will be many (if any) AOSP roms.

I love my note. I won't even consider another phone not even the note 2. If a note 2 was given to me for free sure. Feels plenty fast and screen is huge and looks great. I honestly have no complaints. Then again I was the same guy that used a 3GS for 3 years. At that time the 3gs had begin to really show it's age and it was time to upgrade.

I can do that now on the original note. Come to think of it I have used it just as you say plenty of times. I will also write myself notes to remind me of stuff. You can even email the notes if you ever needed to.

I'm looking forward to that as well. It's always been a pain to frantically try to type in a number or some other information while in the middle of a call.

This is a non-issue for me. Samsung's software on the Note 2 is the second biggest draw. All I want is root and SU so I can delete a couple of un needed AT&T apps.

Me too. They dont add much bloatware, what they do include seems to be genuinely cool. I wont be rooting it.

In fact I think with ICS we are now at the point where you really dont need a custom ROM to get a good experience from your Android device.

it;s also about tweaking the phone. root is still a must for the root only apps

Samsung devices have always been easy to root. The only thing Exynos would impact is AOSP roms but even then the issue of documentation is being blow way out of proportion.

I used to be all about that stuff. However, I can't think of any root-only apps I require anymore. I don't bother with backing up my apps/games, and the only thing I really care about can be backed up and restores without root using SMS Backup +.

Edit: Voodoo Louder uses root, but I can easily live without that.
