Battery life definitely seems solid, but not sure if it's just "back" to the way my S7 Edge was when I first got it vs. the 15% or so less it got right before the update.

Performance however is definitely better across the board - I'm actually unused to any Samsung phone being this fluid. Big question is whether it'll last or not.

2 days now with the update on my S7E.

I haven't had time to really delve into it, but at first blush I don't see much different.

The only thing that annoys me somewhat is the brightness slider used to be one pull down to get to. I prefer to manually adjust it depending on where I am, especially outdoors. Where it used to be a single swipe-down, and it was always in the same place (easy to get to when the screen is hard to see outdoors) now it's annoyingly a couple of swipes and the position of it can move.

The notifications pane in general wastes more screen real estate than it used to, but I like that I can move things around, even integrate my VPN directly to it. I just wish the brightness slider could be moved up.

Haven't really noticed anything else yet. Phone seems fast as ever, but then it never didn't seem fast.

Anyone know of a way to switch to GBoard as the keyboard instead of the stock Samsung one? It's not bad but I do prefer an alternate.

You used to be able to set a different default keyboard but I can't find any way to on 7.0 within Default Application or Language and Input.

Look under settings > General management > Language and input.
Yeah - there's nothing there where I can set a different keyboard as default. in Virtual Keyboard > Manage keyboards I can disable other keyboards but not the Samsung one. GBoard does show enabled there as well but there's no way for me to make it default or switch to it as far as I can see. AT&T S7 Edge Nougat here.

If I'm missing something super basic, would appreciate specific instructions as this is a bit annoying.

If its enabled then just go to a text app or email and when a KB shows up for typing swipe from the top down and select keyboard. This works for me as does the other way I mentioned.

I don't like how most of my app icons are now surrounded by so much white, anyway to adjust that?

I personally use Nova Launcher which lets me use stock icons and manually edit any specific app icon I want. One other option would be to use an icon pack which you can download from Settings > Wallpapers and themes

New owner of two S7 Edge phones. Coming from LG G4 phones that were horrible for pretty much the entire time we had them (one had boot-loop issue and was replaced by LG, and the other one the wi-fi quit working all together). Yesterday T-Mobile had a very short sale where both the S7 and S7 Edge were priced at $360, so we jumped on it. Glad we went and did it pretty quickly as the deal apparently ended at midnight, so there were a lot of unhappy people on Slickdeals who didn't get it in time before the price went back up.

Anyways, my wife has always used similar sized phones as the S7, but I was really leaning to go back to phablet (previous Note user). Before I saw the sale, I was close to either going with the ZTE Axon 7 or the Oneplus 3t. T-Mobile also had the LG V20 for $360, and I liked the size of it better, but I just couldn't do another LG phone. So after playing around with the S7 Edge for a few hours, it seems like a really nice phone. It updated to Nougat within a few hours after we bought it, so I can't compare if it is better/worse than the previous build.

Ordered a couple cases from Amazon already because these phones are very slick holding them without one, and I can tell somebody here will end up dropping it.

$360 for an S7 or a V20???

How do you find these deals? I'm looking for a new phone <$500 and have been looking all over; the best i could find was the free charger and memory card with $100 off for a s7 unlocked

4/29/17 - 7.0 is finally available for the G935U. No sign of the update for the 930U though.
