Whenever I've had this issue (normally when changing pw) nothing solves it except deleting the Google account fully and readding it again.

Yeah, I'm about to do just that, but one week to get hosed like this isn't making me happy.

I'll try deleting but if that doesn't work I guess a factory recent will be next.

Kind of wish the tab pro 8.4 had longer battery life. Maybe the 2014 version will be identical but 2x battery life ?

Yeah, Battery is disappointing after a week using one. Still gets me through a day those with moderate/heavy use.

Its worse than my Arc10 HD (2560x1600 10" with Tegra 4) and previous Nexus 10, but they have bigger batteries too.

Screen makes it awful hard to give up. Battery life has been very disappointing so far.

I have to imagine it's an issue with the way Google handles tokens from apps when enough changes to make the token no longer valid (specific types of update to phone, changing PW). Was there anything of this sort or did it really just get borked all on its own?

No, I did nothing special or out of the ordinary that I can think of.

I've had similar weirdness with my phone (HTC One) that was fixed when I updated to the latest version of Android back in June time frame last year.

I'll update when I delete account and if that doesn't work a factory reset.

Other than this the only issue I have is battery life and lack of accessories. The 8.4 is about the perfect size and the display is fantastic.

I'm flying home today and hope to get this issue resolved so I can setup Torque and see how well this works displaying OBD2 info.

When I got home I tried deleting the google accounts and that didn't help. I power cycled, again no help. I then turned off the lock screen -- no help. Power cycle again -- no help.

So, I then did an factory data reset and now it's working. God I hope this doesn't happen again...

You should be able to distinguish all the squares. My Nexus 7 2013 passes this with flying colors. The G Pad 8.3 fails pretty badly, everything before 11 is pretty much indistinguishable, so it's missing out on a lot of levels of black. The white saturation test is similar, lots of levels of white blend together.

I'll check this when I'm back at my Gpad. Desktop monitor I'm sitting at at work drops at 6, 5 if I move my head side to side.

The display is probably fine, but I think LG neglected to calibrate it properly. This feels like the same mistake Google/ASUS did with the first Nexus 7.

Shrug, My N7.1 was fine and had excellent color and display. Sold it though, shortly after I got the Gpad. Not much reason to have a Note 8, Gpad, and N7.1.

I haven't noticed any yellow tinting on my Verizon model (hadn't known that was an issue).

At launch, the yellow tinting was the most noted issue with the G-Pad's display.

Why are people complaining about the weight of this tablet when it's the same as it's nearest competitor (iPad mini), while having a larger screen?

BTW, I plan on getting one this weekend. Hope I'm not disappointed.

Looked at both the 8.4 and the iPad Mini and I ended up going with the Mini. The battery life was a big reason, but after testing out Plex with the Chromecast and cloud/device syncing and having no issues with my wife's iPhone, I figured I can make do with an iOS tablet. If my phone was an iPhone then I would have gone Android tablet. It's nice having access to both ecosystems.

I don't know. When the iPad first came out people, naturally, compared it to the Kindle. The Kindle could do 3 weeks on a single charge whereas the iPad was 10 hours. Steve Jobs said you're not going to be reading (even) for 10 hours so it really didn't matter. I think the Pro does 8 hours, which is good enough for a lot of people. Obviously, the iPad's 10 hours was good enough for many as well...

Reviews online show a much bigger difference, 7 hours and change for the Tab Pro and almost 12 hours for the Mini.

I am able to add a locked screen analog clock to my S4 and my Note 8.

With my new TabPro 8.4, there's no way to add a locked screen widget though.

Any advice / suggestions? Thanks.

I did indeed read on Page one of this thread that someone wrote that Samsung disabled the ability to add widgets to the TabPro 8.4. If that is actually proven true (i'm not yet convinced), then what is the best way to get around that without having to resort to an app that would unlock that limitation and yet not run down one's battery by having to run that "unlock app" constantly in the background? i've read that some apps that allow one to unlock these types of limitations need to be constantly running in the background and thus, run down battery life much quicker.

Thank you in advance!

That's a pretty big difference. Makes it almost not worth it. Almost. Ipads are nice but the way Apple goes about doing things is too stupid to ignore.

^ I can't get over the apple itunes way of doing things for media... media is a big category to just "live with". Transfer and watch/listen... that's all I want. Syncing is annoying.

Media is a very important criteria for me as well, but with Plex I can very easily stream and sync all my movies and tv shows to the iPad or any other device without having to deal with iTunes. I tested it out on my wife's iPhone and once I saw that it works very well, I went ahead and got the Mini.

Can that do drag and drop? If it offers it then I will jump ship to iPad Mini. If not then I will go with Samsung's tablet.

It's not really drag and drop. But from Plex, either from a computer browser or on the iPad's Plex app, you can choose to sync a file and it will convert (if needed) and download to your device, so you can view it offline.

Just picked up one yesterday. As has been stated the screen is drop dead gorgeous. Got the Hancom word and spreadsheet on there. NICE. This thing just flies. Ill be putting the 2013 Nexus 32g up on the block now. I put in a 16gb msd card today mostly for gps maps. Just love all the features. I setup the tv control this morning. Its much easier to type on as well though ill be getting a bluetooth keyboard for it when some good ones become available, maybe even one of those combo case versions. Im still playing with it of course but this thing is just butter on a hotplate fast. Originally when i read about it i didnt think that extra 1.4 inch of screen size would make all that much difference. Boy was I wrong. It just seems much more usable now. Amazingly thin too. Havent tried the GPS on it yet. Gotta re-download CoPilot Live with all the maps again. We have an ipad4 and new iPad Air in the house too and i like this the best. Looks like a home run for Samsung with this. The only real complaint Ive even read about was some said the battery life was "only" 7 1/2 hrs. LOL. Really? If youre on a tablet for more than 7hrs its time to get off of it.
But in short, im very pleased with it.

^ the problem with plex is that you have to add it to your plex library first and that also takes time and effort just the same.

Adding to your Plex library is as simple as dumping a file into a folder. That's it. Plex takes care of everything else, it's very slick.

Has nothing to do with using a device for that long in one sitting. It's about having to charge a device more frequently, which is a big factor for mobile devices.

Anyway, I really liked both devices. I would actually prefer the faux leather on the Tab Pro as it's more comfortable to hold and less of a fingerprint/smudge magnet. I just didn't like the hardware buttons, specifically having to reach down to the bottom (or side if landscape) of the tablet each time to press back gets annoying compared to having back built into an app's UI, and the battery life difference was key.

Yeah, I think I'm going to go with the Samsung. Also, last week I bought a 16k mAh battery pack charger for my phone. That will allow me to tether the tablet to my phone without worrying about the battery dying.

You can label all complaints about tablets as being "first world problems".

The TP8.4 is pretty nice. I'm still not sold on TouchWiz though so I might go searching for a custom ROM.

VLC is a bit laggy so will also need to look for a better video player.
