Gallardo-powered "Tractorri Lamborghini Mustang"

Okay, I try to keep an open mind about Franken-cars, but this thing is just bizarre:

11-03-07: What happens when you combine a brand new V-10 powered Lamborghini Gallardo and a Mustang GT? Umm, well you get the Tractorri Mustang. There were many other cars that made you stop at first glance and drop your jaw because you could not grasp it. But this one made our minds short circuit until we could climb around it, look in and underneath it and figure it out.

John Haugh of Cleveland, Ohio built this custom creation starting with a new Lamborghini and a new Mustang. The Tractorri has the full mid-engined all-wheel drive train from the Gallardo which of course includes the exotic 520 hp V-10 engine and sequential shifting transmission.

I guess I don't get it. I like the looks of current Mustangs, but this thing looks really weird to me. It can only be heavier and worse-handling than a stock Gallardo (not to mention far less attention-grabbing), and worlds less reliable and practical than a Mustang. To each his own I guess . . .

+1, the front is sinister and the interior is a much needed improvement over the traditional economy Mustang interior. It only takes a few dollars in stitched leather and a few aluminum accent pieces to make a classy sporty interior.

I don't disagree, but it seems to me you'd be better off investing in some Roush suspension, braking, and engine upgrades, the dash from a Bullitt, and some custom upholstery - you could achieve similar performance for a small fraction of what this thing cost.

everything looks mighty fine... except the rear. I really think he screwed it up.

Yeah, I don't get why he couldn't at least put in some kind of grille on the back - actually using a hex-pattern grill would be a sly tribute to its Lambo underpinnings.

But you wouldn't have all wheel drive.

What the fuck!!

I really don?t understand the logic here, why would you destroy a Lamborghini Gallardo, a car which epitomises engineering excellence as we know it, to create this ghastly monstrosity!?

Oh yeah, it wouldn't cost much to have an upholstery shop custom cut and stitch a few yards of suede tightly around the dash and center console and then insert a few aluminum trim pieces from Steeda, UPR, etc (ie: vents, knobs & switches, door handles, cup holder and gauge rings, etc). Could probably end up with a snazzy looking interior for about $1000.

Strange, and sad. For a fraction of the $$, you can build a Mustang that will eat this alive. Oh well, an interesting footnote in mustang/auto history at least.

The logical side of me agrees with everyone who is asking "why?".

The mad scientist side of me looks at it and says, "COOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!" When you get right down to it, that's really the purpose of these cars. To give you an excuse to use my favorite answer, "Because I could."
