I have found Nintendo's products to be aimed more to younger children with hop and bop type games.

On the other hand, I have found Sony's products to be aimed more for older children (20+ )

This, of course, is a generalization, but one that I find holds true in most cases.

Gamecube games may be aimed at a younger audience but that does not take away from the fun.
Mario has me hooked and it won't let go!

Having said what I did in my previous post, the best thing you can do is check out the available games on both systems and determine which one has the selection that interests you the most.

If you still can't decide, then it may make sense to rent both systems from BlockBuster or someone else with a whole whack of games to see which one you prefer.

In the end, games are what is important. If one system has better games for you, then that is the system for you.

I haven't played either game on the GC (don't even know it they exist for it), but I have played Madden 2002 and NFL 2K2 on the PS2 and NFL 2K1 on the dreamcast.

I thought NFL 2K1 on the dreamcast was leaps and bounds ahead of the NFL 2K2 on the PS2. But I also thought that Madden 2002 was better than both of them. I really enjoy the Franchise mode and now that Madden has it, I don't think a football game compares with it.

NFL2KX series are a little easier to learn and enjoy, but once you have the hang of Madden, it is a far better game.

ps2 has many great games now. The GC has one or two, with more to come in the future I'm sure.

If I didn't already have a ps2 and was buying a console today, I'd get a ps2 over the gamecube. There's some games coming out for the GC that look good (metroid prime for one and perfect dark will more than likly make it to the gc), so at that point I'd consider one then. But until then, there's a lot of killer games for the ps2 (not to mention working online play).

i'm not a hardcore gamer so even if microsoft's xbox live thing is the best idea out of the 3 console makers it doesn't mean squat to me. What I do know is that PS2 has Final Fantasy 10, Gran Turismo 3, Kingdom Hearts comign out soon (there's a kiddie game for ya, but still one hell of an RPG, or so they say ), and u know u will always have a great selection of games, albeit the graphics aren't as good as microsofts. Plus PS2 accessories are generally cheaper, the fanbase is larger, but still like everyone said compare their games/games coming out and see which appeals to u most. U know both systems have sports games, but PS2 has classics like FFX, GT3, GTA3, etc. Xbox has Halo and other good games, Gamecube has mario sunshine coming out, super smash brothers, and resident evil

If you look at what's going to be exclusive to each console and not come out for the PC I'd have to say Gamecube, hands down. I'm am so tempted to get one just for Phantasy Star Online (and I'll need to get somethig for Soul Calibur 2). Zelda, Metroid and all the others would just be icing.

PS2 over gamecube for sure, unless you like retarted kiddy games of course. I have to say it though, console gaming kinna blows no matter what console your on right now. I dont know what the h*ll is going on, but it seems like noby on this frikin earth can make a good console game. Halo was great the first few times around, but it got extremely repetitive and annoying after a while. The real problem is that EVERY GAME OUT THERE, has SOME type of extreme short coming that could have easily been taken care of. The only games that have any replay value as of late have been sports games. Either way the PS2 has the most games right now, as it should, it's been out forever, cant wait till the XBox gets some good ones.
