To everyone who says GC=kiddy... You haven't played Super Mario Sunshine have you? The difficulty level of this game is simply amazing. I could see most 7-12 year olds getting frustrated and stopping playing in the first 30 mins.

And now finally, get whatever type of games you like. I'm not heavy console gamer and I just play a few select platform titles mainly so the Gamecube fit me well. I"ll be quite satisfied with Mario Sunshine, Super Monkey Ball 2, etc. I love these party games where anyone can just pickup a controller and have fun. Of course, this isn't for everyone so whatever suits your taste.

I love the RPG's on PS2, but Square is starting to go multi-platform (as well as Rare... orignally only made stuff for Nintendo). Most of my friends have PS2 so no need for me to get teh same exact games and system. Why not have both.

I have neither of them but I'd recommend the Cube over the PS2. I'd recommend an Xbox if it was thrown into the equation (I have one).

Seriously, PS2 over Cube. There are just far more AAA titles on the PS2 out right now that you can go pick up. The Cube is great, and already has some amazing games (Mario, ED...) but it's going to take time for the best of the best to come out.

Yeah, I own all 3 ... console wars are so f@#$ing lame. Just enjoy the games and play what's good.

Mario Sunshine is great... Star Fox will be out at the end of the month. Tony Hawk 4, Metroid, Zelda, and a couple of Star Wars games are coming soon too.

I wouldn't get a PS2 at this point. XBox or Gamecube is where it is at (or at least going to be by Christmas).

I would say XBox first, then Gamecube.
