MS Intelli-mouse explorer vs. Logitech Mx500

Which do you prefer and why?

Has anyone used both? Will I notice an improvement in my ability to aim if I switch from one to the other?

I currently have the MS Intelli-mouse exporer 3.0

Thanks

well, to start off the last intellimouse I used was the original intellimouse explorer.

That said, I think the mx500 is the best mouse I've ever used. I can't say it's the best mouse ever, since I haven't used all of them, but I'd rank it up there.

I went from the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0A to the MX700 (Wireless MX500) and was amazed at how much better the Logitech mouse was! I vote MX500.

I use mine for gaming and it's great, like I said, I don't think you'll be dissapointed in the MX500.

Yeah. I have an MX700, and there is no way I could use another mouse. It is one of the best investments I've made. I'd go with the MX500 definantly.

I use the MX300. It's 800dpi, just like the MX500. The only difference I could find is the extra buttons on the MX500. It lasted about 2 years before acting up. I liked it so much, I just bought another one.

Coming from an MS Intellimouse Explorer, the MX500 is hands down way better and precise for all purposes, especially FPS gaming. Would highly recommed the Logitech!

Having owned and using both an MX500 and MX700, there is no performance loss, the batteries have yet to be changed (heavy use every day for 3-4 months). It almost feels like the MX700 responds FASTER than the MX500.

There, I vote for the Logitech MX700

I prefer the feel of the MX-500. but last I used an MX-500 the logitech drivers still sucked too much for gaming, so I went to an Explorer.

they both have their benefits...

Nobody ever said Logitech had the best drivers

I'm just using the generic MS ones and all the buttons work just fine. Except for the alt-tab one, but I never used that anyway

Get the MX310 then.

I had the MX500 and returned it because it was too big. The MX310 is nice because it's smaller and still has the extra buttons.

I prefer the Logitech Corded Optical ($12) .
The MX500 I find too heavy (though it glides very well) and too big.
The intellimouse Explorer and Intellimouse Optical both like to lose the feet (they get worn down), and then don't move so well (I've gone through three Intellimice before this Logitech).
Between those two, the MX500. No doubt in my mind is better than the Intellimouse.
Edit: I have not used the MX310...if this cheapo one ever gets bad, I might try it.
