I take it that the leech scene was Melissandre throwing curses on the three people in question? But wasn't
Balon Greyjoy already killed off in season 2? Why hex a person who's already dead
?

Balon is still alive. Very good episode last night. The next 2 weeks will be a long wait for episode 9.

Pretty sure Balon is not dead yet. last we saw of him he sent theon and his sister out to go mess stuff up

OK must be getting my timelines confused! It's a shame we haven't seen a bit more of Balon, the actor who portrays him is awesome! "Did you pay the Iron price or the Gold price?"

I have a feeling that the
RW will happen next episode or this season finale and Joffrey's wedding will either kick off season four or happen soon after

Episode 9's title is Rains of Castamere which should be the RW.
Joff's wedding would probably be in season 3 to finish off the story of the leeches bursting in the fire, and probably some news about Balon's death.

I'm feeling quite bad for the guy getting tortured every ep. Does anybody have a clue to whom and why they're doing it?

Yes and Yes

It's Bolton's bastard that has him and he is doing it because Theon betrayed the north.

its more because Ramsey is a sadistic fuck and tortures anyone for sport, guilty or not. But yeah, the reason Theon ended up under his "care" is because Theon took Winterfell and Ramsey was basically leading the group loyal to the North that retook it.

Well, Tyrion does actually take issue with her age. IIRC, in the book he remarked how at least there was never a shortage of whorehouses...or something like that.

But you could totally see in his face that he wanted to eventually

I don't think so. Tyrion is one of the few actual "good" people in GoT.

He says it in the episode ("I couldn't...well I could..." or something like that) and
he definitely says in the books on their wedding night that, while he does desire her, he will not have sex with her until she wants it.

But if you mean forcibly take her then no, Tyrion wouldn't do that.

Actual decent episode, first one in about 4 or 5 I've actually enjoyed. Wasn't fantastic, but the next two episodes should be good, assuming they don't cock it up somehow and try to cram everything into E10

HBO May Reveal Game of Thrones Ending Before the Books Can

I worry about this. For example...

(ADWD spoiler)
The show likes to follow characters concurrent with the timeline rather than backfilling the story, evidenced by Theon's scenes.
So I worry that we'll see what Rickon and Osha have been up to on Skagos when that hasn't been revealed yet in the books.
That's one example off the top of my head, I'm sure there are others.

they're doing a great job putting out quality episodes. I can't wait until somebody gets to put the beat down of joffrey.

It's funny that as I read this thread, I'm listening to people outside my office talk about how mean "King Jeffery" is. All I can think of is that Rage of Thrones song.

I believe you are referring to "King Joffrey"?

So having realized how little the show has advanced thus far and knowing how much more lies ahead (not to mention the unreleased books in progress), we're either getting a whole lot more seasons or a lot of stuff is going to not make the cut.

(Based upon rumors that there won't be more than 7 or so seasons).

That's what I wanted to say to her. And then drop a bunch of spoilers and walk away.

LOL, that's what I would have done

I work with a guy who feels like he has to me every Monday morning about GOT. He cracks me up because he's watched all three seasons, and still has no idea what any of the characters name's are.

Example question from him:
"What's up with the guy that hangs around with that blond dragon chick?"

Joffrey has a little brother that would be next in line to the throne right? I think he was the one Cersei was going to kill along with herself during the Battle of the Blackwater?

Yes, under the assumption that all of Cersei's children with Robert are legitimate heirs then Tommen would take the throne if Joffrey died.
