If Bran can enter the mind of anything, that makes him OP and freakin Charles Xavier. He can even control more than one at a time, lol.

The show really likes to have episode 9 be the main event.

Season 1 episode 9 was the execution of Ned Stark
Season 2 episode 9 was the battle of the blackwater
Season 3 episode 9 was the Red Wedding
I suspect, based on that formula, that:
Season 4 Episode 9
will be when Tywin Lannister and Lysa Tully die.
Though maybe the latter will be S4EP10.

I actually like his character more than any other, except for maybe the father, Tywin, and Sandor, the giant who is afraid of fire. The other actors I'm curious of finding out how they turn out is Sansa, Jamie Lannister, and Cersi Lannister but they grow more irrelevant to the story each passing episode. Obviously the Lannisters are growing tired of their fathers control, so I imagine that is where next season will go over.

One thing I really like about the books is the way the character progression is unpredictable. I think you will be surprised.

Jon Snow: Crows before hoes

I disagree, their cross paths set them apart, not his personal choice. I think she won him over until it came to the whole murdering innocents thing. He may have even settled down with her on a nice quiet piece of land, but that's obviously not what she wants.

Jon Snow: Hoes before Crows; Crows before murdering.

Nah as it was a event that happened at times not to mention many other books have this but there are different versions also.

Hell in some places the priest would stand around watching to make sure the marriage was consummated.

Did they have witnesses for any of the recent UK consummations?

That was a damn fine episode. Exactly what I've come to expect from the show. I watched it with a group of people who had read the books and knew what to expect, and it still caught them by surprise.

So, having not read the books or watched anything past Season 1, does everyone "get theirs" eventually?

I don't really want to watch people being dicks and shits and not get the satisfaction of seeing them all die.

We're gonna need more Starks.

Ned Starks cousin, Tony, will be coming along soon w/his invinsible armor.
Hopefully HBO will also show Tony's friend. He's a captain with excellant skills in using a shield

The usual fantasy trope of "good wins out over evil" does not apply to GoT. Just because you are "good" doesn't mean you will live until old age. An those who most would consider "evil" do not automatically meet a just end.

If you can even categorize any character as such. Most of them are really just shades of grey depending on from which POV you assess their situation and actions.

After reading through the Red Wedding, I basically lost all emotional attachment to everything in the books. I stopped caring about all remaining characters, because you realize there's no point to the story, there's nothing to look forward to, it's just Russian roulette in story book form. This latest episode (and the same part in the books) is why I stopped enjoying GoT and ever since then all I do is read/watch through it like a zombie just to see how it ends. It's like Martin was raped by a cliche as a child and is setting out to get his revenge as much as he can to the extremes. It makes for a poor story just as much as a story that's too cliche. Instead of finding the right balance he just went to the extreme opposite end.

Yeah, but where is Thor to stop the Frost Giants from beyond the wall?

I had the opposite reaction. The red wedding was super exciting. I was on vacation at the beach when I read it. There were 2 of us reading the book and a couple who had already read it and as we got to that part and screamed out "no fucking way holy shit" it was really fun. Lets be realistic. There are so many characters in this book that a little bit of loss makes it exciting. Where I have a hard time though is when you get to the end of the last book and you're not even sure who's dead and who's alive. Half the characters are disfigured, zombies, missing, and maybe dead.

You see, to me, it was a breath a fresh air. Every other story line has characters that you love and are somehow impossible to harm. Martin treats the characters like the sacks of meat that they are, and the result is so jarring that it's wonderful. I think it's been years since I've read fiction books where I was actually in suspense over what would happen.

If this were the end of the books, and Martin declared the war over, I might have been upset, if for no other reason than the end was so inglorious. But he didn't. Power is balanced shortly after this and we start from square one. This is the way war tends to work in the real world, with enormous amounts of horrible damage on both sides.
