I feel like Tyrion is smart enough that if he were going to kill Joffrey, he'd make sure to be on the other side of the planet when it actually all went down.

Yep. No way it was him, it just makes no sense.

I am hoping it was the fool just acting out of revenge and as repayment to Sansa. Would be a sweet parallel too since Joffrey attempted to kill him with wine, then the fool guy actually killed Joffrey with wine.

So we can all agree no way Tyrion did it?

It's never good when your murder plan has you seen holding the murder weapon in your hand in front of 700 people while your victim dies in front of them.

also, he was really drunk when he save sansa the necklace. maybe he was getting hammered because he knew he was about to do something bad and kill the king?

Well, the fool did give Sansa the necklace and we also have screenshots of Lady Oleana fiddling with the necklace.

Interesting circumstantial evidence to think about.

But Joffrey was a Baratheon in name only, he shares no blood connection to Robert, making the Lannisters the most recent king producer.

It's not about who was related to a king, it's the question of why someone who was at the right place and right time just happening to take power and become king, suddenly now has super-special blood that has magical and godly powers. It's just a part of the story that I can never accept.

Daenerys has dragon blood in her, fire cannot hurt her, because I assume some Targaryen ages ago screwed a dragon and produced an off-spring. And that's fine, because they did something not normal giving them different genetic material within their blood than other people.

Cue rule 34 fanart of a woman getting fucked by a dragon. D:

Ah yes, good call; forgot he was trashed when he did that part. It's all coming together... :hmm:

He was also drunk at the tournament, and thus why Joffery wanted to have him killed. It is far more reasonable to believe he was drunk when he gave Sansa the necklace because he simply a drunkard. Now, that doesn't remove him from the list of possible group that conspire in Joffery's death.

Wouldn't it be grand if it was found out he just choked.

Sure Tywin wouldn't admonish him in public, he does things another way. Remember when Tywin and Jofferey were talking in the king's chambers and Jofferey was upset the small council was being held in the tower of the hand (it was too far to walk)?

Tywin slowly walked up to the king, looked down at him and said "we could have you carried".

Did he tell the king he was a lazy dick? No, but he got his point across just the same. I noticed Tywin was virtually silent at the wedding, almost too restrained.

Don't forget the part where Tywin Sent him to bed without supper for being a brat.

The reason Joffrey was killed should be fairly obviously especially in the talk about the Iron Isle folks and others starting to call in for the debts to be paid due to the mess Joffrey and others have created. Look at the mess the Bolton's face due to Snow's insanity.

Well, there are learned men in the GoT world although we don't know exactly what they know, however, the last shot of Joffrey's face seems pretty graphic.

Although I don't know what a person who has choked to death looks like.

It is almost certain to be investigated and they'd no doubt consult their Maester(s).

Or maybe he's SO smart that he wants us to BELIEVE if it were his plan he'd be half a planet away when instead he made it to look like it was too obvious to be him.

Look at the mess the Bolton's face due to Snow's insanity.

Yes Ramsay Snow does seem unbalanced but in episode 2 he revealed a key piece of information (that he learned from Theon/Reek) that he revealed to his father Roose Bolton.

It seems that aside from Meera, Jojen, Hodor, and Osha; the Bolton's are the only people who know that Bran and Rickon are actually alive.

No, but it makes him the least likely suspect. He's never been shown as anything other than a monumental screw-up. It would be a deus ex machina moment if he suddenly got his act together well enough to plot the murder of a king. I think he's just a drunk who is smitten with Sansa, not a co-conspirator. If he was involved in any way it would be more reasonable to believe that he's an unwitting patsy being used by somebody more intelligent in case something went wrong.

What if he is actually Keyser Soze? That can't be it; because that is Hodor!

Didn't Sam meet up with them in a tower? Wouldn't have Sam told Jon Snow about them?

Yes, I forgot about Sam and Gilly thanks for the reminder. I think that Sam was made to promise not to tell Jon in that last episode from season 3 wasn't he?

Joffrey was one of the more interesting characters in the show. Well written, and well executed. Unlike many others, which are just wooden - like the ones in cheap thriller fiction novels.

I liked the actor who played Joffrey... it's too bad he's retiring from acting.

he's been acting since he was a little kid and has stated that this will be his last role. he's going to university or some such nonsense.

Interviews make him seem very intelligent and likable. He also seems to be a bit turned off to the fame thing that comes with being a known actor. I'm sure after his money starts to run out, he will take up acting again.

The last few days of following this thread, as a book reader, have been laughable with everyone up in arms over spoilers.

There has been plenty of speculation from "non-bookreaders" regarding certain events that only someone that has read the books would have knowledge of. Therefore us book readers can only conclude that some "non-bookreaders" are liars.

Regardless, I only come in here to get perspective from other fans of the show. I am die hard fan that cannot get enough of this show. I actually have re-watched the series multiple times and read the books twice.

Agreed.

Actually earlier in the wedding when he was surprisingly gracious I thought for a moment "holy crap, maybe he finally understands he will go further if he hides his evil a little." But then his true nature came out before he died.

He's young, he's famous, he's got some disposable cash, might as well go to college for a while. He'll be treated like a real king and get more nookie than even a good King's Landing whorehouse could provide. Acting will be there if he misses it somewhere down the road and if he doesn't, he should follow whatever path makes him happy.
