So, Roose goes for the fatties? Kinky.
Though she seemed to be surprised at her treatment and the bastards calling her "mother'

no.
don't know if this was said in the show because I don't rmember it.
he married the fatty because Frey offered her weight in silver if he married her.

he's now a rich man altho I would have thought he was already wealthy??

I think it was always made to seem like Roose was always looking for money. Didnt matter how much he had already just always wanted more. And more power.

It was stated flat out long ago in an episode, doubt it's spoiler material.

Pretty immaterial anyways, other than to indicate he's a money grubber.

Yep, where Prince Oberyn Martell is from... and he's angry at the Lannisters because he thinks they ordered the murder of his sister and nephews.

Awkward....

I think tyrion planned to get tommen and myrcella away from cersei so they didn't wind up like joffrey. I thought tommen was supposed to be sent away too, but she stopped it from happening.

Not about Joffrey. He sent Myrcella off to Dorne as part of a marriage pact to strengthen the alliance with the south and because she would be safer there than in King's Landing which was preparing for war.

He also knew it would hurt Cersi while having other benefits.

It doesn't really seem like that much money considering Roose was the 2nd most powerful lord in the North. Would you rather have a hot chick with a $38,000 dowry, or a fat chick with a $72,000 dowry?

Yeah, and Prince Oberon's brother is a more reasonable person so Myrcella is safe. Fostering children is supposed which other families is supposed to strengthen links between families such as Mycella being sent to Dorne or to stop shens by having a suspect family foster one of their children with another family.

For example Theon Greyjoy lived with the Starks pretty much as a very well treated hostage.

I doubt Prince Oberon would entertain harming a child who wasn't even born when his sister and nephews were killed by the Lannister men in any case.

Just an observation.

Just trying to get something straight. Roose Bolton married one of the daughters of the guy who betrayed the Starks because Robb wouldn't marry one of the daughters?

I ask because I am trying to figure out why the guy who cut of Theons manhood called the chubby lady "mother". Was that the daughter Roose married?
He chose the fattest one because Frey said he'd pay a dowry of the girl's weight in silver.

...unless that plot point was only from the meme image I saw in this thread. I don't actually remember if it was in an episode.

It sounds like "mother", but I would assume the line was supposed to be "my lady" said fast without a retake.

edit: no, you're precisely right, she is his new wife and he called her mother

I just assumed Ramsey said mother because either it was sarcastic, or since hes crazy and knows when to turn on the charm.

You've posted spoilers at pages 9x,1xx (and probably more), had to redact a whole bunch of your earlier posts and got angry responses from non-book readers because of it, but now you now pretending to save the thread from spoilers.

I think it's partly because he is a bastard and the highborn usually don't hold bastards in high regard. So he did it as a way to dig at his father. I could be misreading the scene though.

Actually now that you mention it I seem to remember something about "her weight in gold'

I got the mother part because that's what the closed captioning said, though that is sometimes wrong. I did really sound like mother, and her surprised look fits with that.

I never really get the impression from the show. Karstark seemed much more powerful up until Robb removed his head. The boltons are more feared based on rumors.

It was silver, but yeah, he picked the fat one for a bigger dowry.

There wasn't a skinnier daughter who was cute available, they were all ugly so whatever. He went with the fat one.

He said mother, and I took it as a dig to his father like blankslate said since he's a bastard. The fat bride took it as a compliment, 'cause she's dum.

Read between the lines. Cersei explains to Margaery how the most powerful house is most likely to be betrayed by the 2nd most powerful house. She gives Margaery that warning since the Lannisters are the most powerful house in the Westeros and the Tyrells are the second most powerful house.

Cersei then tells her the story of the Reynes of Castamere who were the 2nd most powerful house in the West after the Lannisters. They rose up against the Lannisters and Tywin completely annihilated them.

Then the Frey's overthrow the Tullys to rule the Riverlands, and House Bolton overthrows the Starks to rule the North. So presumably both were the second most powerful house in each of their kingdoms.

I'm just hoping we get a new catchy tune this season.

"The Rains of Castamere" and "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" have run their course.

I'm hoping for "Needle Needle, Sharp and Regal".

What say you?

He's one of the guys I quoted in my emails with the mods. It was easy to show time and again he posted book spoilers and that's why there are now two threads. If he does it again I think he might just get a holiday to reconsider his reasons for trying to ruin the show for non book readers.

btw do what I did. Go to User CP and put him on your ignore list.. A lot of people have done it to him and its lovely not to see any of his posts. If you don't ignore him please don't quote him because that shows his posts to those of us who have ignored him.

You seem to forget the point. You're a Lord. Have as many chicks as you want.

Before modern times, anyone below your rank was a slave to you.
