I've watched up to season 3. DOn't have HBO, don't want to disrespect the show with bit torrent...so I"m going to wait for the DVD release.

That said,

With the "red wedding" having ripped out the heart of the series, what happens now, exactly? How will it all end? All of the remaining kids are way too young. Bran at the conclusion of the series might be 14. Anya maybe 15. How is this thing supposed to end?
Not sure why you used spoiler tags there. I'll reply, even though you've probably left this thread (not sure why you'd venture in if you haven't seen the last 2 episodes).

The 2 most recent episodes (S04E01 and S04E02) were both excellent.

That's the big question everyone is wondering. Though I don't think the end of the Stark line ends the series. They're just one of the contenders for the throne. I think they're almost getting wiped out was meant to show to become King you must put aside personal desires and even honor and have a single minded goal to reach the throne above all else.

If you do want to find out what happens beyond what is shown on the HBO series you can go to the Book Spoiler thread. But, and this is a spoiler, the books are still being written and the ending is still up in the air.

btw, thanks for the spoiler tags. However, if you haven't read the books you can openly discuss anything that has happened in an aired episode in this thread without spoiler tags. So, your post didn't need to be spoiler tagged.
And, btw, neither did mine.

varys is involved with the murder plot, along with the tyrells and dontos. the camera keeps cutting back to him, and his expression is always grim anticipation. he knows what's coming.

tyrells - get rid of joffrey, the uncontrollable monster. the marriage is already a done deal and marjory is queen. you guys think the bedding is mandatory, when there were 2 marriages without it.

dontos - happy to take revenge, he's brought in because he's trusted by sansa and distant from the real players.

varys - for the good of the realm, kill the fucker

sansa - unwitting mule, both varys and the tyrells would like to see her free from the lannisters. lady olenna suggests she goes to highgarden after she plucks the poison jewel from sansa's necklace. sansa would also bring the power over the north that the lannisters wanted for themselves to tyrell.

Is the bonus content from the DVD/Bluray fairgame in this thread? There is a lot of backstory/info in that.

Maybe if the material just provides background and doesn't give away future book details.

Probably best to send a PM to KeithTalent or another moderator to find out.

Lack of consummation is a big deal. You're not queen until you take the peen.

No one has addressed the issue. Personally I would like to hear about that. I would guess if it were spoiler tagged no one would have a problem with it.

I'm curious. Why would someone post in both the book spoiler thread and then in this, the non book spoiler thread? Was their pig riding in the books? If so you just posted something that is technically a book spoiler, though not important at all. Now if someone goes and reads the books you have posted a spoiler for them

So, just for my curiousity, why did you do this?

Now you're just being silly. Pointing out a difference in a story event (Joffrey's wedding) that has already taken place in the show is inconsequential as far as I'm concerned. When he mentioned that there was pig riding in the book, my immediate thought is that PETA would be pissed and that's probably why they wouldn't bother doing it.

That would seem to be the big question and it would also effect everyones, including mine, theory on whodunit. I wonder if Margary is pregnant? She could claim it to be Joffrey's baby. What would that do to the question of consummation.

At the least it might set off a succession battle. And in Kings Landing that usually means someones going to die.

I'd assume it would depend on the specifics.

eg: backstory telling a nice tale about Eddard's dad? probably not a spoiler.

backstory detailing the origins of the White Walkers and what happened to Valyria? yeah, spoilers.

So there was actual pig riding in the book? Weerd.

Real reason: filming a dude riding a pig, much less 5 dudes riding 5 pigs? haha, not gonna happen in the real world. I'm sure PETA was never in anyone's mind.

doing it with CGI? expensive and even if done well, would like like shit. Go with what they actually did--trust your art directors and staff to make good props--which is more realistic, anyway.

So they actually put spoilers on the bluray? I guess so people who bought it run around ruining things for everyone else

I watched first 3 seasons on DVD only recently, and I skipped that material after realizing that some of the stuff does create spoilers. A lot of the house and map material on the season 1 set is good, but also very tedious. I skipped a lot of it simply because I had a 2 day rental for about 7 episodes at a time.

And especially season 2 and 3, there are the new character segments. I assumed that would spoil the shit out of some plots, as some of these characters only appear a few episodes in.

Also, on the season 3 set.
There is a single episode-long segment: "The Making of 'The Reins of Castemere'." Yeah...uh, don't watch that until after that episode (9).

I dont see how back story info is spoilers. Obviously they leave a ton of back story out on the show so it makes things simpler to understand.

with the rate GRRM is publishing books, we're probably only a year away from the TV-watchers being able to spoil GoT for the people who only read the books.

The financial reality of limited budgets for a television show. Also I was rather disappointed by Joffrey's dwarf show because
the absence of one character in the show that Tyrion encounters later in the books

.....

This is also why Jamie insisted as much of his arm as possible be saved and why his gauntlet is comically large. It's why Rick still has his hand in The Walking Dead.

I would have preferred that they just take off his fingers and give him a stuffed glove to wear.

Hey, dickhead, I have cancer and its 50/50 that I will make it to the next season. I am on heavy drugs and undergoing chemotherapy. Because of this I sometimes forget what happened in the previous episode or two, or miss something while watching the current episode. I come into this thread to clear those things up. AND I DON'T WANT SOME ASSHOLE SPOILING THE NEXT EPISODE FOR ME.

Well, that "spoiler" in question wasn't a spoiler about a future episode...or even a "spoiler" in any way.

The image of Triumph the insult comic dog was appropriate because of the epic segment where he mocked people in line for one of the Star Wars prequels...which included Lord of the Rings nerds...and we're also talking about spoilers for fantasy fiction. I think we all deserve to be mocked

Well, there is a lot of backstory on the DVDs, for example someone asked where the Lannister's get all their money. not really a spoiler, but I am not sure if it was ever mentioned in the show itself
it is explained in the bonus content that Casterly Rock sits on a gold mine.

There is a lot of history in there also which may or may not be a spoiler, but definitely fuels some of the more wacky theories you can find about the books.
