I really love the CG dire wolves, one thing that bugged me about season 1 was how tiny the wolves were because they were actual animals, although for the first half of the season it was ok because they were supposed to still be pups.

Had the same issue but glad they are improving that part now.

I was kinda surprised how far they went showing the bastard killing and while they made a reference in the books is was more of a past tense of it happening and not stabbing a baby right in front of you.
The gold cloaks were NOT happy being assigned to that role, they should have used Lannister guards.

Apparently ep2 was leaked, no idea why people are commenting on it.

How can an unaired episode be leaked? Does HBO offer it ahead of time on HBO-GO/OnDemand or something? Regardless I agree it shouldn't even be brought up until after it's aired.

Someone said HBO-GO was at fault earlier, but sometimes things like this leak from the set/production crew.

The season 2 episodes are going to air about 1 week early on HBO GO for some European countries (netherlands, croatia, some others).

Seems like a dumb idea, but i guess they want to push their online streaming service.

HBO does this for every single one of their shows, and it wasn't limited to those European countries at all.

Just, for courtesy (like time zone lag) try not to post spoilers for any episode before general release.

Wow, they are on Ygrette all ready?

It wasn't leaked, anyone with HBO GO could watch EP 2

HBO put it out there for anyone with HBO, and thus HBO GO
Oh, well that's a little different... Don't think it should be discussed here though. Off to HBO-GO, never even signed up...

GTFO

I only see S2EP1 on there, but it might just be me not looking in the right areas...

Um no.

If people don't want spoilers about what happened this episode then they should not click here but it's another thing if it was book spoilers not shown yet.

I was kinda surprised how far they went showing the bastard killing and while they made a reference in the books it was more of a past tense of it happening and not stabbing a baby right in front of you.

It was a bit shocking but I believe that is more or less how it went down in the books. But remember the books are told from the POV of a limited number of characters and Tyrion heard of it after the fact. Its doubtful he would have allowed it to happen had he known of the plan prior.

Book related speculation
I guess Riverrun is not going to be in the series then? It wasn't in season 1, Jamie isn't imprisoned there in season 2 and at this point it seems safe to say they could write around it entirely for season 2 and it wouldn't really change the main plot line.

They've moved some elements a little closer to the beginning than in the book already, which is understandable since the book starts out pretty slow.

Pretty big book spoiler!
I wonder what they will do will Tyrion's injury at the end? Surely he is not going to lose his nose in the TV series. I haven't read beyond the beginning of SoS yet so I'm not sure how relevant it is to future events.

The casting has been pretty good, only nitpicks really. Its completely understandable the large contingent of homely to downright hideous characters will end up "hollywood ugly" or downright attractive in the transition. I thought Davos or whatever was a little fat and old. I thought Stannis would be a bit taller and more grey. IIRC isn't the red woman even taller than the already tall Stannis? He has a harsh enough face though.

Actually i only remember one or two episodes from season 1 last year that were aired a week early on HBO GO. I could be wrong, but can't check the HBO GO site from work.

That I am saying is that they do it for all of their different shows, eastbound and down for instance also had ep 2 one week early.

I'm not saying every ep is a week early, only that at the beginning of a season they do this.

Weird, it was there last night but it isn't there today. Maybe it was there for a limited time or something. I got the heads up from someone on Twitter that it was there and went and watched it last night

Liam Cunningham is only 50. Davos has 7 sons, four of them grown, and are sailors. He had been a smuggler for 20 years, and then served Stannis since Robert's rebellion 14 or 16 years ago. Davos was far from a young man.

Stannis on the other hand was Robert's younger brother. He was only in his early 30's. The actor playing him is 55.

So the actor playing Davos is the right age or younger than the character, while the actor playing Stannis is more than 20 years older than the character.
