Sounds pretty fishy to me, I don't know how they could sell the GCN new for $20 less than retail. Thoughts?

$20 less than retail is not a crazy rip off price. Matter of fact, I'm sure they pay somewhere around $160-$170 for these thinigs. Not much money to be made but that's what the large software selection is for.

Not true they do make money on systems, It is the console manufactures that are actually loosing money on the sale of consoles.

I do not want to argue if the sales of GC has fallen off or not but I have been told by several stores that this is true. If it was not why would stores like fry's be including a free game? According to fry's the X is selling #1 PeeSPoo is #2 and GC is #3. I was not saying that they are not selling at all I was just saying that they are not selling like the others and like they were a couple months ago. I have no interest in supporting any system or campany and currently own no game systems except that new $40.00 GBA from Overstock. I think that all systems here have their merits and can co exsist but if i had to pick one it would be a tuff choice between the GC and the X. I just dont have the time to play console games anymore so i guess i don't have to pick between the two!

Ohhh, if some guy at a Fry's told you which is #1, #2, and #3, than that is the gospel. Maybe he got that figure because that day they sold 5 Xboxes, 4 PS2s, and 3 Gamecubes.

In reality, who knows if and why Fry's would give out a game with a system (maybe it was a package deal? was it $200 for the system WITH the game? probably not)

Saying that XBox is outselling PS2 just trashed your credibility.

On another note, the PS2 is being sold with a free Winter Jam Pack. That means they must be crap too. Who'd want to buy a system with an exponential amount of good games, when you could buy a Gamecube or Xbox with only 20-30 games. As Ishmael so politely points out, a salesman at Fry's reporting the daily sales numbers doesn't warrant any interpretation. Check the usebase. PS2 is in the lead, and the holiday season numbers strengthened their position above the new systems. Grow up, quit trolling, and keep within the thread title.

Yes it was a basketball game and it is $199.99 with game sorry i do not have a scanner to scan the ad maybe someone else can verify?

I am not trying to troll here I was passing along info of a hotter deal at fry's (Like i said before i have no interest in any of the consoles), You guy's are being way too hard on me! Why is it hard to beleive that the X is outselling the PeeSpoo?

Oh and at fry's they are Giving a $30.00 instant gift on any PeeSpoo game or accesory with purchase of system

Fry's is wrong. "peespoo" is still the #1 selling console and will be for quite some time. Maybe Fry's data was just showing data for their stores? Overall, the ps2 won throughout the holiday season and still going strong. This doesn't mean anything though because this is around the time the GC and Xbox are gonna throw in the big games. I expect to see a tight one this holiday season.
