That's why he's a manager at Kb toys If Microsoft wants to be a big name in consoles they will make themselves known, period. All the PS2 fanboys can say whatever they want but the bottom line is MS has so much more money to pour into the system than sony does it's really not even funny, microsoft could crush PS2 simply by giving the system away and bringing the games down to $5 a piece. Instead they are being intelligent and fighting the battles they need to. Nonetheless Billy obviously knows what he's doing because he has a $200 billion company and none of us ever will.

Hmm, Gamecube for $149,
or a machine that has a 30gb hard drive, built-in-ethernet, Geforce 4, Online games this summer, DVD player...etc... for $50 more..
I think the answer is easy..... XBOX

Buy them all! Gamecube is the only system I don't own and it has several games that I'd like to play (SSB, Monkey Ball) and more on the way (Metroid, Zelda, etc).

P.S. I have the Xbox and it's almost useless to me right now... nearly all the games it has to offer are on the computer or Playstation 2 for less money. Halo was great, but that's it. It's without a doubt a superior piece of hardware, but all that hardware is collecting dust because all my PS2 games are more enjoyable.

30GB harddrive? it's not like you can store your pr0n on there
built in ethernet? online gaming has yet to be seen in mass from MS
geforce4? gf3 at best, but its not like you'll be running the games at 200fps at 1600x1200 resolution
DVD player? at the cost of $30 more

hardware is not everything. look at the sega saturn. that thing had like 7 processors. that thing died quicker than the jaguar and virtual gameboy.

just because you have a lot of money from one business does NOT mean you will have success starting another business. look at how the WWE (former WWF) did when they started the XFL.

Don't count Microsoft out yet. They have the money ($40 billion) to stay in this for the duration.

Hmm... that's funny. The all of the KB Toys in my area (Baltimore) have 50% off Xbox, Game Cube AND Playstation 2 accessories. I guess the KBs around here are getting rid of all of the systems then.

I was tempted to get a xbox or ps2 when the price cuts were announced, but I figure it would gather just as much dust as my Gamecube and Dreamcast. Between work and family, I have no time for games anymore.

I did see today the first news article where Gamecube has outshipped Xbox 4.5 mil to 3.5 mil. Nintendo will be in a strong second place by Xmas.
