I've been debating on whether or not to start an account on GameFly or not. I have a Hollywood Video right up the street from me, but to me, this is much more convenient as I don't have to constantly call/check the store for the game I want. Plus, they usually have a limited supply of games.

Anyway, I just want to know your experiences with them. I live an hour from their newest factory in Pittsburgh so shipping times should really be no problem for me.

What are you waiting for?

Are you going to reply now or wait ten years?

Gamefly is all about location.

If you live near a distribution center the wait time isn't bad.

I"m in norcal and they in socal.

2 days in the mail.

Granted if the game sucks I have to wait and can't exchange it right away, but There selection is better than Blockbuster or Hollywood video. and tend to have more copies than hollywood or blockbuster of all games. Those places seem to have tons of the popular titles but only one or 2 the lesser known titles.

If you're new. Head to best buy and get their gamefly promo thingy. its 10 bucks for the 1st month. 50% saving. Much better than their free trial period, especially if you don't live near a distribution center.

I've had it for a year and a half and definitely think it's worth it, especially since they opened the distro center on the east coast.

A friend of mine lives in western, IL and has horrible service.

Turnaround time is an average of 10 days and he has yet to receive a game in his "top 10" in the last three game rentals. He's not happy at all with them.

Gameznflickz (stupid name) was quite a bit better for him. Plus it was $5 a month cheaper too.

I had GameFly for a short while, but the 15 or 13$ a month was a bit much for me for only 1 game, so I dropped it.

I'm doing GameznFlix now, and it is cheaper, 9$ a month, but it appears like they don't have the great qty of games like Gamefly did. Earlier this month Orange Box, Bioshock, CoD4 and Shivering Isles were all short waits, so I got CoD3.

I enjoyed gamefly - until Bioshock, Halo3 and CoD4 came out ... and I still want to get GH3 & Rock Band. With the assortment of games coming out that I will buy, I ended up cancelling my GameFly because I'm having too much fun as is. If there's a lull in what you enjoy playing, and only want to do SP games - then GameFly is the way to go.

Personally, I've had nothing but great experiences with GameFly. I'm on the two-at-a-time plan and have had no issues getting new releases. In anticipation of a big release I'll open up one of my slots and leave it empty while providing no options for GameFly to use to fill it. Then when the new release hits they fill it with the new game. This has worked 100% of the time so far.

One more thing.. I think it's definitely worth the money. Even on the two-at-a-time plan if the service keeps you from buying a single game the cost savings basically pays for 3 months of the service.

I agree, and I do the same thing.

You can also get new games for $10-15 off doing this. Once they send you the game, it becomes "used" and you get an option to "keep it" for 10-15 bucks less than new cost. I got Mass Effect & Orange Box for $45. Also, the longer you are a member, the better discounts you get.. I think you get 5% off after 6 months and 10% after a year.

That thought has crossed my mind as well, but I haven't tried it yet. I almost did it with BioShock. I got it right when the game launched, so the copy GameFly sent me was brand new. Then I saw they they gave me the option to keep it for like $45. I think I may start doing this.

I used to live in Spokane (4hrs east of Seattle), and the shipping always took FOREVER. I canceled after my intro month.
