Struggling professional “Call of Duty player” Douglas “FaZe Censor” Martin dumped his weathergirl girlfriend Yanet Garcia to spend more time with video games.

Announcing the decision on YouTube, the 23-year-old revealed that he and Garcia, 26, had split up, saying “I don’t have time for a girlfriend.”

He went on to say that he needed to focus on playing “Call of Duty,” and would be playing the next iteration in the franchise, “Black Ops IV,” full-time while she was “doing that job over there.”

I don't really understand how this is making headlines, even the local radio was talking about it this morning. Maybe it's because I play a lot of video games so I understand it.

Think about it like this, EVERY single teenaged boy wants to be a professional gamer. That creates a lot of competition. You have to eat, sleep, and breathe one specific game if you want to make it anywhere in the competitive scene. It's a lot more dedication than just "yeah, I play Call of Duty." I'm not sure where Call of Duty is at, but CS, Overwatch, LoL, all the big tournaments have million dollar prize pools. If you make it big you can really make some big bucks in the field.

It's a big opportunity for the guy, and if it's wet and moist, he'll be fine.

Believe me, that is totally not true. I remember growing up someone asked one of our teachers if her son was a gamer. She kind of laughed it off and said something like, "No, he's in the get a girl phase now".

Imagine someone asking what you want to do when you grow up. "I want to be a professional video game player.". That should not be applauded. "I want to go into STEM", or "I want to teach the next generation", those are commendable.
