She had a bad experience with a gamergate idiot. Decides to donate $1 to feminist charity for every mean tweet she got. Then another person joined her, then another. All of the sudden the gamer gate idiots were helping to raise money for feminists.

Feminist Frequency isn't a charity. It's a business run by Anita Sarkeesian. She's making tens of thousands of dollars a month off all the attention and drama. I don't think anyone really cares if a bunch of feminists want to swap money around, or a bunch of white knights want to empty their wallets on Patreon instead of on cam girls.

Which makes it a more effective way to raise money, since people will be more likely to a) give to something that's billed as a charitable cause b) give more since they can write off the donations as deductions.
While charities are non-profits, I'm not aware of any restrictions in setting salaries. And they're not making such a crazy amount of money that any of their salaries seem would seem especially outrageous.. yet.
What I find really telling is that despite the organization claiming that they intend to make freely available educational materials they charge $5000 plus travel and expenses for Anita Sarkeesian's talks (this was determined by an inquiry made by Karen Straughen). These talks include a lot of bullet points from her Tropes vs Women in Video Games series, including the majority of the episodes that haven't been made yet; I can tell you this because I've seen the written notes someone has taken. So it seems that they'd rather charge fresh money per audience than keep making the videos that everyone can see, that are also long overdue as Kickstarter promises. Not only does FemFreq not provide recorded videos, they also forbid the audience from making video or audio recordings.
As can be seen by their disclosures these talks and some articles in high profile publications Sarkeesian has written (which I'm certain she's also received money for) make up the vast majority of FemFreq's activities. And the articles don't cover the same TvW talking points the private talks do, they more resemble the same fluff everyone else prints about her, so not an awful lot to be seen there except as visible from the horse's mouth.
Charging money for exclusive/private material does not strike me as in line with what a charitable organization's mission should be.

Although technically you're wrong (and I shouldn't call it a charity either). While charities can be 501(c)(3) organizations, not all 501(c)(3)s are charities - and as can be seen by your link it's classified as educational organization, not charity. So really it's no more a charity than Westboro Baptist Church (another 501(c)(3) as I'm sure you know) is.

You know, I think this is the essence of GG. Feminists spread their dogma like sharia law, where one must submit to thinking their way or be punished by every social and proxy, passive-aggressive means available. Then they decided to tackle the nerds (whom they've generally bullied and ostracized until this point anyway) and tell the world these gamer nerds are BAD! They're sexists! Rape apologists! Discriminators!!
They are/were none of those things and put up a resistance. Feminists aren't used to that kind of resistance and fought back with more fury than usual, taking to the media to make sure the world knows how BAD these gamers are - and how their games need to be stripped from them, re-educated with feminism, and bullying brought back to make sure the nerds stay down in their "proper" low ranking in society.
