I miss the days of simple video reviews or how tos. none of the drama, entertainment crap or this exposé bs that frankly only hardcore subscribers would care about. didn't watch the video, don't want to watch the video, don't care what happened, bring back written websites so we can stop wasting time and bandwidth on these bs youtubers.

I already see people saying that Steve is just jealous.
Even if he is, is anything that he showed in this video not true? The whole LMG is making too many mistakes and Linus always have an excuse on the WAN Show.
This I already know, but that story about Billet Labs, wow! That surprised me, what they did and that he refused to recognized that he did something wrong.

I've watched a lot of both GN and LTT videos and I do not believe Steve is jealous. He is highly principled and really has a problem with people who are not. If LTT is making so many factual errors in their videos, they need to be called out on it. And what they did to Billet Labs is unconscionable, and the way Linus just shrugged it off is terrible.

I agree. I used to watch some LTT stuff but quality has suffered and there is a lot of click baiting. Steve IMHO has a better platform and I trust him more. I'm surprised Linus has had so much success.

Honestly this video feels like clickbait/ragebait. I think LTT was always Entertainment first, Accuracy second. They had some period of time of good quality CPU/GPU reviews, but that was at the cost of crunch and a lot of overtime. And Linus knows that it's not sustainable and wants to improve it. 3-person teams can work through overtime with passion alone, but 100-person LTT team needs something else. Also, just my own opinion: GN likes drama, regardless of what they say. I can't watch some of their videos due to nuclear levels of cringe they're inducing. I only watch reviews from them.

Yes. Steve points out errors in the LTT videos.
The smallest error is "wow, they said 99MB when it should have been 96MB, let's dedicate a section for that"
Noctua talk was just silly.
The rest of the errors are dealt with. The mouse video should've stayed as first impression honestly, combining labs and shortcircuit right now is not a good idea from LTT

First of all Steve needs a razor and a haircut. Second he needs to acknowledge his youth in a computer industry that is pushing 50 years old for consumers. He trashed Dell desktops and their OEM graphics cards. Saying they were cheap and junk. Not realizing most of the GPU features are gimmicks or eye candy that do not add value to the card. Nice to have features, backplates and fancy memory coolers.

Then Steve tried to tell people how to mount a water cooler radiator with the tubes/pipes up and not down. Giving him a torpedo level would show how the flow of water moves. Then you remove the air and seal the system and it works the same way without visual helper a bubble level offers.

LTT is more an entertainment/comedy show rather than a serious reviewer page. Data correctness isn't the top priority for them.

The problem is that when you're not accurate, you can hurt hardware makers. It's not as simple as seeing it as entertainment. Most people watching probably believe everything in these videos.

A conflicting view inside the LMG.
The way he behaves, Linus seems to take his company very seriously and wants it to be as "professional" as possible. Problem is, what Linus seems to understand as being "professional" may differ from what others think.
He wants to make the benchmarking and testing side of his company more "professional"... by making it big. The bigger it is, the better it is. If he has the bigger so he has the better benchmarking machine. But as we can see, in the process he is neglecting a lot of basic fundamentals as not important to his goal. Don't know what Steve's true feelings are, but I get annoyed seems that he thinks he can be the better benchmarking channel, the more "professional", just because he has more subscribers and the "lab" with more floor space.

He isn't the "goofy" techtuber anymore, he fully transformed into a another corpo money chaser with his business speak to avoid consequences.
And in his official response he confirmed everything this video criticizes, but defendes himself that mistakes happen and he fully accepted he will make mistakes, sorry not sorry for all those hurt.


My biggest curiosity is Luke...
I remember seeing him in various occasions during the WAN trying to get some sense into Linus and making he understand his mistakes and what the problem really was, always failing. Now it seems like he gave up and is just silently suffering.

I find LTT entertaining. I watched that waterblock story and remember disagreeing with the conclusion. There are some segments where Linus' buffoonery is ok, but not that. The way he spills water around is detrimental. He is one of the worst builders I've ever watched, hamfisting his way though the process for a bit of laughs.

Auctioning off that block was malicious, especially considering that creator (Billet Labs) has real talent. Linus. Get that block back, retest it, send it back, and make things right.

we're at that juncture where written form became fluff over time for the ads. pushing out as much content as possible. ltt had their day when they were a very small outfit inside a house. Gn is decent if not long. I do enjoy a lot of level 1 tech material but much of the hardware discussed doesn't apply to me or is way out of my budget or needs. I see some quality new players aka young blood coming up the ranks and they're getting my attention or as much attention as I can give them before I forget why I was watching the video. there's a younger lad and a little heavy set who does some interesting videos. He's made mistakes but owns up to them which is a nice change. icr the channel name but he's got light coloured hair and has this nice cozy set he's built in a spare room of his flat.
