yep rings a bell, there was one called mean moddersreview or something that fell off the map in 07 that was also very good. young folk say stuff stays in the internet forever, us old folk say that's bs. it doesn't. it'll take its sweet ass time but it'll fall out of favour eventually much like magazines and paper newspapers did, although I still get a sunday paper to catch up on the news that isn't about the usual bs the news is on about.

I'm in Canada and have been watching from the very start of him showing up on the internet; when he still worked for NCIX and would put up product videos on Youtube. It's been interesting watching him go from an average employee at a computer store doing that stuff to where he is now.

The content has definitely been evolving over time. I think there was an era with the early LTT stuff after NCIX where the content was hard reviews and mostly that. As they've grown, it's become a hell of a lot more fluff, marketing, he comes off as trying to scrape up every last nickel he can - rather than taking a little less profit to maintain quality and not be positioned as a shill.

I stopped watching LTT about 2-3 years ago now I think because the content just got silly, and when there were straight reviews of products being done, I'd always notice a lot of bias and just not much meat on the bones. Ironically it was Gamers Nexus I switched to, because their content is just so much better. LTT these days feels like it's geared to people who want to be told what to buy and are neophytes to PC hardware, as well as a younger crowd too I'd say.

I think these videos are entirely fair, and with the size of LTT now, and the nature of their content these days, they are fair game to call out if there is bullshit afoot on their end.

hardware canucks is good. Their accents are sometimes difficult to understand but they're a good channel for case and fan reviews.

Maybe even more technical. Anandtech used to have a nice sweet spot where it was dumbed down just enough but still very thorough. That said Chips and cheese is probably the best place for written articles these days. Anandtech is circling the drain and Tomshardware is too biased.

For the record, personally never a fan of Linus. Always found him super annoying with his squeaky high voice and fake enthusiasm but I will be completely unbiased when I say this.

Folks in this thread acting like Steve just woke up one morning and decided to start lobbing grenades for kicks and clicks need to check themselves.

It was Linus who posted the content bragging about their new expensive lab bringing about a revolution in testing and benchmarking while then taking an unprovoked shot at a peer.

Do they make bullet-proof glass houses? By all means Steve should empty the clip on those fools so I don't have to see Linus's dubious content referenced here as if he were an authoritative source.

And if you hold shares in popcorn companies you're going to be very happy when you wake up this morning.

i still don't see why people are shocked. linus was never very good at hardware or tech, their channel was ok for basic reviews back when they began. their technical reviews have always been questionable. no one should be surprised at what's happened. unsubscribe and move on.

no attorney would take her case because of how she's just aired this. this could all be false but you're letting it get to you because a woman, I suspect it's a woman, wrote this, a young woman at that. lmd is at the size where they can afford a team of 10 lawyers from a top global firm and it won't affect their finances.

There are other women working at LTT, that have not, yet, reported anything similar. And there are ex female emplyees of LTT that are not reporting anything like this.
