Seriously, My store got 6 on wednesday, exchanged one for a defective unit (wouldn't read discs! DRE?) and then nothing til saturday, when we actually sold three of them!

PS3 is backwards compatible, so its not like you're losing too much by trading it in.

Not really. PS1 and PS2 games look like crap (jaggies and flipped pixels) due to a PS3 flaw for the games which do not support 480p, which include AAA titles such as FFXII. Sony has promised a fix but who knows when that will happen.

Wow thanks for the heads up. I remember how the PS2 made most PS1 games look BETTER.

That's the reason I sold my PS2. I was going to buy a PS3, then I read that PS2 games looked like crap. Looks like all those 50 PS2 games I have won't be played for another 3 years.

This might be a YMMV deal. My friend asked about this when we were picking up a game for the Wii. They told him they had never heard of the deal and wouldn't do it. The PS2 was worth $35 in Trade In credit. This was at EB Games.

PS3 has been a let down and it shows in sales...

According to vgcharts.com, ""The PlayStation brand doesn't appear to be helping the PS3. If NPD's numbers are correct, there are over 300K PS3s on retail shelves. That is not good for a console launch of only a million and it's not good for publishers with PS3 software."
