This said person at question has 2 fathers.Did you tell your mom before you used her credit card first?
I haven't spent more than $10-15 on a single game from Gamestop in many years.
Most times, the particular games I am buying, is cheapest at GS.
I am uncomfortable not knowing condition of used games that are being shipped from Amazon. So am at least comfortable knowing that an extra buck or 2 won't hurt when I know condition of my purchase will be guaranteed. I ALWAYS thoroughly inspect games I purchase from GS. EXCELLENT/VERY GOOD condition only, or GTFO.
However I do see just as many overpriced games on shelves, but I don't buy those, so it's whatever.
I also look to complete a lot of my incomplete games (Cases/sleeves/manuals/etc).
They usually provide those for free if you ask nicely enough. So I usually buy something crazy cheap out of courtesy.
I haven't sold anything back to GS in a good 10 years or so.
I prefer sticking to sites like GameTZ where I know I'll get top dollar, or more out of an item.
Several times, I have gotten offers on games that were significantly more than market value.
$30 worth for a $10 game? Hell yea! I didn't think twice when it came to accepting that offer.
You suck. I hate you.
But that doesn't mean I don't agree with you.
Gamestop sucks the big one, mainly for their shady practice of selling un-shrinkwrapped games as "new". It's complete BS. They will take a brand new and sealed game, open it, take the disc out, put the case on the shelf, and sell it as new.
Another shady tactic is how they will only have "one" copy of a game left, which of course is also not wrapped and the game disc is behind the counter. Once they sell that game, they will open up another new copy and do the same thing all over again. I once called 4 different game stops to see if I could buy a copy of Patapon 3 for PS3. Each one gave the EXACT same story.
Me: "hi, do you have any new copies of Patapon 3?"
GS: "oh yeah, we do."
Me: "is it shrink wrapped?"
GS: "no, it's opened"
Me: "Do you have any sealed copies?"
GS: "no, sorry, we only have that one copy"
Me: "Ok ok, nvm then. Thanks anyways"
Repeat same convo 3 more times at 3 other Gamestops.
Also, one last shady thing is that they let their employees take home those game discs that they pulled from brand new sealed copies and "test" them out. After all that, they still sell them at the "new" price.
Gamestop is bullshit.
How do you know about the taking home of games? Not saying you are wrong, just curious how you know.
I can +1 that, friend used to work for Gamestop. He'd play any new game days before it came out and then just returned it to the manager and they sold it as new.

Well then that is indeed crappy. How do they define "used" then?
A trade in. Duh. lol

I don't have any concrete proof, but it's just what I've read online and heard from others that they do this.

Don't want to pay $60 for a console game, join the glorious PC gaming master race, and worship our god, Steam.
I guess the gamestops you all have suck. I have never had a new game be opened or stickers all over the games. I guess I am a lucky one!
When you buy a retail game don't they go and grab the disc from a drawer or back room and place it in the case for you?
I assume they only do this at locations where theft is a big issue.
Their trade in prices have gone down significantly. I went in yesterday with the following:
BF3: $17 after 40% extra trade in credit
Crysis 2: $4.50
Dark Souls: $11 after 40% extra trade in credit
I laughed and walked out.

Nope, they open the drawer and get the whole thing still wrapped
Huh well that IS different. Here they have the cases on the shelf open with nothing but the manual in them. They have the disc in drawers behind the counter.
