How much fps or quality loss is there with 64mb video vs 128mb R9700 video?

My company issued us these pathetic old p3 500 mhz laptops with 128mb ram. If I'm spending 6 out of 8 weeks in a hotel room I want a decent laptop.

Pretty sweet deal. A friend of mine had a similar laptop and it performed great. If I wasn't roommate-less I might get in on it.

This isn't a threadcrap, but if anybody's interested in more poweful laptops along the same line PC Torque sells a Sager line of products that's awesome. Pretty pricey though, and not so much laptops as desktops cleverly disguised as laptops. (battery life is like an hour tops) Still freakin' amazing.

Don't fool around. This laptop is under 7 pounds. I carry it all over the country. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM!!! WiFI at airports comes in fine. Very, very fast. We have the latest Dells, IBMs and HPs at the office and everyone wants mine! Buy this, especially if you are traveling alot and need the portability. If you want sexy then this is fine at home. If you want gaming at home...buy a desktop.

It even comes with WinXP Pro. This would be an awesome replacement for my eMachines mistake! Should I tell my wife or secretly buy it?
Too bad only 1 yr warranty with no option for extension, but AmEx hopefully with double the warranty to 2yr.

What concerns me more is that there were reports that the ones coming from NewEgg were Dothan CPUs, not Banias, whereas the one listed at Buy.com explicitly states 1MB cache, which would indicate Banias, correct? If I bought one and it turned out to be Banias, I'd be pissed...

EXTENDED WARRANTIES...you can buy a 2 yr Extended Warranty for this laptop by registering and then purchasing the extended warranty directly from ACER site within 15 days of you purchase...this gives you 3 total years...there is also some special combo warranty, but I think I am adding just the extra 2 years for $124. Read the warranty limitations and I think you pay postage there and they send it back free. I assume this waranty is good since its for all laptops, but as soon as you register your serial number it should give you whats available, hopefully this 2 yr extended will be available.

Just got mine from newegg... Its a Banias, but for the price I'm not complaining Why would you be pissed, its advertised as a Banias so thats what you should be gettting.

Ordered it on Thursday @ $1445.00 with overnight shipping. Thought it was a great deal at that price. Then on Friday I noticed the price drop and called and got the price lowered

You guys be careful. Not all of the links show the 2012wlmi. Others are going to the 2012wlci which is the version WITHOUT DVD-Burner and integrated graphics.

So, is the cache the main thing to look at when trying to tell a Dothan from a Banias? I don't even see cache size listed in the specs.

It was probably briefly in stock because I cancelled my order. Seems Newegg had a problem with my ship to address and they didn't fix it in a timely manner after I called, so I took my money elsewhere.

I ended up buying through Ebuyer. Shipping was a lot more than the Egg for next day but it still came out $20 cheaper.
