'Gaming case' question

I'm vaguely toying with the idea of getting a new case (though I'll probably coincide it with other upgrades). My current case (Cooler Master Elite 330, ATX) has one downside in particular in that the power cables going to the graphics card are pressed up against the side panel, and ideally there'd be another ~1cm of room so that less cable contortion is required. How would you go about finding such a case?

You are spot on with them giving the cases the "gaming" moniker (just like they do when they call just about any computer the "gaming" version).

Basically find a case you like (looks, needs, size), and read a few reviews on it. There are relatively few cases that are so choked off on air flow, their GPU/CPU temperatures are much higher than the competition. Even then, most of the time that can be fixed with a few additional / better fans.

What the heck dude? The OP mentioned nothing about water cooling, and a case is nothing to have an orgasm over.

Yeah that case is a dinosaur, I can understand why you want to upgrade.

There's no such thing as a gaming case. It's just a marketing ploy. A modern case will list CPU cooler and GPU cooler clearances. That's the real information you need. Then you decide based on motherboard size, number of hard drives, AIO rad support, material (plastic or metal), and airflow.

There's also case aesthetics like a window, PSU shroud, PSU cable routing (something all modern cases have), and fan placement. Fan placement is an aesthetic consideration with RGB/LED lit fans.

Check out the Rosewill Magnetar (discontinued, maybe have to find some new-old-stock somewhere, or open-box resellers on ebay), and the Rosewill Stryker M.

Both have dual front intake LED fans and an exhaust fan, and the Stryker M has a top vent that is usable for a AIO WC rad. mount.
