How much performance will i be able to notice with

ASUS EAH4870/HTDI/1G Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail

or

X2 ASUS EAH4870/HTDI/1G Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail

Will there be a noticeable jump in FPS and reliability? or am i just going to have bragging rights. my monitor will be

SAMSUNG 2232BW+ Black 22" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 8000:1(1000:1) - Retail 1680 X 1050

X2 won't get you bragging rights here for 16X10, because the 4870 is more than sufficient for that resolution. Save your money.

You could even go with a 4870 512 at that resolution, if you do want to spend the extra go for a factory overclocked card with a good non-reference cooler.

Yeah, crossfiring 2 4870s isn't worth it at 1680. If you have a CF capable board, though, it might be worth it to get a second card a while later once prices are much lower (sort of like what happened for 8800GT owners that had SLI boards).

Heck, if you're going that far, why not change out your DVD Burner for a Blu-ray reader/DVD burner? Should be at least one Black Friday deal on a drive.

Might not be a bad idea to get 8GB of RAM while it is cheap; you are getting a 64-bit OS. I don't see RAM getting much cheaper and DDR2 will only go up in price as DDR3 production ramps up.

Good build.

Nice build, but I don't see an aftermarket CPU cooler in there!

edit: and 1066 ram, if you plan to overclock your CPU.
