Gaming headphones

Looking to get some headphones for playing games and listening to music (but mainly games like UT etc)......

Not looking to spend more than $70 shipped, what is recommended?

Can you spare maybe like $20 more? Then you could get a pair of ATH-500's from audiocubes, which will be great for gaming, music and movies.

I ended up ordering px100 from elsewhere for portable use.

not sure how you would like IM716s for gaming, but they are known to be a good valued entry level audiophile IEMs. buy.com has these for $49.99 ($39.99 AGCO)

I've tried using my iM716s for gaming. The soundstage sucks. Actually, the soundstage is basically non-existent. It doesn't help that the sound is very much "inside your head", either. Gaming still works best with full-size headphones; even KSC75s won't show a very large soundstage.

:thumbsup: QFT. I've had mine for 9 years now and I have yet to find anything better in the price range. Plus I use them with my iPod.

I use turtle beach earforce 5.1 headphones and they're the best I've used so far.

Find a used pair of hd555 or ath-500. Both are very good (I prefer the hd555). New they run around $99 but used you can get them for $70 or less. Also both take a while to break in (esp the hd555)
