Im thinking about the Steelseries Diablo 3 mouse.

http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Di...7926495&sr=8-4

Its the same laser/design as the Xai/Sensei but it does not have the LCD at the bottom which I never use. It is also cheaper by $20 compared to the Sensei and supposedly is rated to last through 10 million clicks with a different spring since D3 is click intensive. I love my Xai, design and performance so this might be a good choice...

Im thinking about the Steelseries Diablo 3 mouse.

I was considering that one myself. There is also a new version of Steelseries Sensei coming out (July, I think?) called Sensei [RAW] --- I think it has the same rubberized grip as Diablo 3... It has the ability to hold 1 onboard profile --- not sure if the Diablo 3 mouse has that. Also slightly higher CPI (Raw: 5,700 - Diablo III: 5,000), but I'm not sure if the RAW one has the "10 million click" promise.

To me, the Sensei (not raw version) interests me the most because of the customizability and specs, but I really like the idea of the "anti-sweat" rubberized grip that I think the sensei raw and the Diablo 3 mouse both have. I also really like the look of the Diablo III one.

I have read reviews that the two side buttons opposite your thumb get clicked inadvertently (I'm guessing by the ring finger) which really sounds like it would bother me. Someone said that they just keep those two buttons unbinded, but it still bothers them... I think that would bother me a lot too I actually do like the idea of having extra buttons, it could be very useful for Diablo 3, but it does seem like it would be very awkward and difficult to click them with the side of my ring finger.

Between that, and the fact that I usually grip my mouse in such a way that my fingers are toward the center of the mouse (the spot that likely breaks these :'() I'm really considering something other than one of those three steelseries. I think if yours lasted 2 and a half years, you probably aren't pushing in a spot that's breaking it as easily as the dude from that video. I'm tempted to buy one, but I just don't know if I should take the risk.

My mouse history in the last decade or so:
Using a hard credit card thin mat I imported from spain.
MX500 - liked a lot
G7 - My all time favourite mouse, ran on the same hard credit card thin mat
The precursor to the Performance MX the name of which escapes me - hated the middle mouse button roller thing, also didn't think much of the wireless.

I switched to a cloth mat and loved it instantly, then my G7 died.
Razor Mamba - This was awful, hated from the start just couldn't get it to behave well. Charging was terribly flaky and it died within a year, good riddance piece of junk.
Cyborg RAT 9 currently - Flaky sensor fails to track quite often, drivers loose sync and its to heavy.

I have an MX518 which is better than the RAT9 in all but its dragging wire and I use that quite a bit when the cyborg has irritated me enough.

So far the only mouse I've liked is the G7, but I can't find the combination of exchangeable batteries, shape, weight and wireless in any of todays mice. They are either much to heavy or much to flat for my hands and I end up shredding my palm on the cloth math.

You and me both

Im debating if I should go back to Logitech with the G500 since before my Xai I had a MX500 and MX518 but Ive grown to love the simple design of the Xai. I sent a ticket into support to see if they'll help me out out of warranty like how Logitech did for me years ago but I doubt it.

Talked to a Steelseries rep. The Xai, Sensei, and the Diablo 3 mouse all use the same click mechanism.

Nice... The Diablo 3 mouse is very tempting... The little issue worries me, though. (Like I said before, if your Xai lasted as long as it did, that's really not too bad) Aside from in this thread, I've read on another forum that the G500 is incredibly comfortable. Another one that I've been considering is G9X (lot of good comments about it in this thread too) --- only two problems is for one, Logitech's site has some reviews of people saying the mouse wheel click is very difficult (I don't use it all that much so not the biggest deal to me) and of course the problem that was already mentioned, which is that over time the cable breaks at the place where it connects to the mouse.

BTW I just read one of my earlier replies:
Is it possible that the mouse is suffering from the same problem as this person's Naga: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIR3MfrD7Gc (Skip to 4:16) ?

I think I meant to say that to someone who was using a Razer mouse (was half asleep when I posted), but I did intentionally mention the problem with the Sensei in that post knowing that Xai and Sensei are both made by Steelseries (with a similar looking shape from the outside at least).

Anyway, I just checked Steelseries site, and they have a new mouse listed; Sensei MLG Edition.

I haven't read too much about it, but it does say that it has:

The black gun metal casing provides a bad ass look and a non-slip grip

Which is nice because I kind of wanted the Sensei in a way, but didn't like the smooth finish (and wasn't sure if I wanted to settle for the RAW version).

The only thing left to hope is that they addressed the problem mentioned in that youtube video.

The design of the G500 hasnt changed since the MX500 and the MX518 which I owned both. It is an awesome fit and I never had a problem with it. To be honest the new features that the Sensei has is either looks and the double sensitivity, which isnt a huge factor to me in the first place since I use lower sens. The G9X is ok. I bought that for my ex-girlfriend a while back but its a small mouse and requires a claw grip. I use a semi claw/palm grip so it was never too comfortable to me.

I think I am going with the G500 this time. They might not have made any new mouses in the past few years but its cheaper at $58 bucks compared to the Diablo 3 mouse at $70 and is better. The D3 mouse takes out the Xai's memory and adds too much flash with the red. Plus, all of Steelseries mice have a 1 year warranty compared to Logitech's 3 year. Your right that 2 and a half years isnt bad but I expected a bit more from a gaming mouse.

G9x, G1 (MX300 type, no US release), G100 (MX300 type, no US release), G300, and G400 (MX5xx), off the top of my head; and I don't know what they have going on outside of the G series, these days.

Outside of the G9x they are all mid to low end models. That's what I meant by "new".

I've been really happy Logitech in the past (G500 & G700 were great), but I'm thinking about trying this Steelseries Legendary mouse for WoW.
http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Wo...pr_product_top

The only thing holding me back is that I cannot find ANYWHERE if it has the TILT WHEEL feature I like from the Logitech line.

Anybody have one who can give me feedback?

Thanks,
Glendor...

If its like any of the steel series mice, then it doesnt..

I got a G500 btw. Sensitivity is not what Im used to and the driver program isnt as customizable as steelseries. I also saw this announced by Razer today

http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.251800600/categoryId.56404900

:/ looks exactly what I wanted in a mouse. Thanks for being late Razer.
