I'm curious what people might recommend. I'm left handed but tend to use the mouse in my right hand. I had a Logitech G502 Proteus Core until yesterday. I loved its movement, the buttons and the scroll wheel was phenomenal when unlocked.
Unfortunately the mouse irritated the skin on the palm of my hand on the ridge under the fingers and it was a little awkward in my hand. Before I got it I'd been using a combination of an Apple Trackpad and an old Microsoft Wireless Laser 8000. I love the feel of the metal in my hand and have never had the problem I had with the G502.
I spent about an hour yesterday in a computer shop trying out lots of different mice. By the end of it I was leaning toward the Razer Taipan (White for the shell, felt better on my hand) and the Razer Naga (shape felt good in my hand and worked reasonably when I tried it in my left hand). I couldn't find any that have an unlock able scroll wheel like the G502. I didn't pickup the Taipan because of that and it feel a bit off to pay as much for the Taipan as the G502.
I tend to do a mix of gaming from RPG's (Divinity Original Sin, Wasteland 2), FPS (Just Cause 2, Far Cry 4) and adventure games.
