I hate laser mice. When gaming, if you have to pick up the mouse and move it, laser mice can still track when off the surface and makes you move when you don't want to. I bought an MX518 just for that reason.
? My MX518 could still track when it was off the surface too?
My laser mouse Xai only tracks when it is super close to the surface.

My G5 does not track once I lift it beyond 5 mm. My MX518 does about the same thing. Your statement is invalid.Optical mice can track but only when still very close to the surface. Laser mice are stronger and can track from farther distances and really sucks when gaming.
What are you guys going on about? I've NEVER had thad problem on laser or optical. Be less lazy and pick it up moar or something? Sounds like PEBKAC
Sounds like you are easily swayed by marketing and have the laser = better BS in your head. Laser mice wont make you suck less you know, actually knowing how to aim/hit things will
What the hell are you talking about? Did I say laser was better? Oh right, I didn't. Sounds like you're making shit up. I could care less if my G9 were optical or laser, I can't tell the difference. But I know I've never really unintentionally tracked on either.
Its ok, by the sounds of it you are probably used to getting shot in the face by the other team repeatedly, you probably wouldnt notice if it unintentionally tracked or not lol.
Anyone endorse or use Razer mice? I'm kind of interested in the Mamba though the price is a little steep. Up to this point I've owned a dozen or so Logitech's and currently use a G5 although it's starting to fail.
