Gaming Mouse

Hello, I'm new here and am looking for a new gaming mouse (have an old G9x that is dying).

I am playing mostly rts, rpg's and fps's although I can play just about anything really.
I only require that it won't be wireless and it'll be big and comfy for my rather large hands.

I was thinking about one of these models, Although other recommendations would be welcome:

Corsair M65 PRO RGB
Razer Mamba Tournament Edition
Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

Budget is around 130$.

You ask me, the Razer branded mice have gone downhill in quality.
Never used any Corsair's mice, and haven't used that specific Logitech mouse, but, I have used other Logitech mice, and to me at least, the warranty / customer support is a huge factor, and thus, I usually get logitech products.

oh I completely agree with Logitech service quality. My G9x broke a few years back, but the store I bought it from shut down. There was even a discrepancy regarding the warranty the store should have provided but couldn't. So the Logitech tech guy was like "don't worry, we got this" and I got a replacement. Didn't even had to pay for shipment.

But I don't find the model in local stores, so that's why I wanted to find out with other people first before I make my choice.

Take these asymmetrical mice with a grain of salt. You really have to test one to know if the shape works for you. For me, only a symmetrical mouse allows me to keep the sensor aligned correctly so that no vertical 'skewing' occurs with sideways mouse movement. You'll know by testing like this:

- open a drawing app like Paint, grip mouse normally, then close your eyes
- draw a few lines sideways by only moving your wrist (start from center, then turn left->right->left etc)
- if it produces lines parallel to horizontal axis like this, the shape of the mouse works for your style of grip (as long as you find it comfortable as well)
- this kind of result is what I get with asymmetrical mice like Zowie EC series

There so much out there... I purchased about 4 mice from Amazon after my trusty Deathadder finally bit the dust (dumped a glass water on it). Tried out the new one didn't like it. Finally tracked down 3.5g for $30. Couldn't be happier. Its all about the shape for me. Just get one with optical sensor and your good to go.

I landed on a Coolermaster Xornet to replace my long functioning G9. As my hands are too long to palm a mouse (wrist and/or tips touch the surface), these mice have proven comfortable and accurate for my use. I do miss the free wheel mode on the G9 though. If the Xorent had that kind of wheel, it'd be perfect.

Steer clear of Razer, overpriced and uses cheap Chinese parts. Had personal experience with them in the past 15 some odd years.

Look up the Zowie FK1/FK2, similar to the Steelseries Xai or Sensei mice. But that's just me since I require an ambidextrous mouse being left handed.

Yes using one right now replacing my Razer Taipan that went belly up, I've had it for years and seems I have ended up back with it. It's a simple mouse to use with no BS to deal with.

For $60, would you suggest anything else? I've got a Logitech G700 now, it's nice to use but the battery life is shit, even after replacing the rechargeable battery with a new one, and charging cord is too stiff to game with it attached. I used to like all the various buttons and features but I'm starting to think simpler is better. I don't play any games that would require mapping complex macros anyway.

My beloved Logitech G5 has its rightclicker dieing (doubleclick of death). Just ordered a Roccat kone XTD as it is the closest I have seen a mouse come close to the same look and feel.

I realize this thread is a bit old at this point but for a gaming mouse I would definitly recommend something with a flawless sensor[1]. That is a mouse that has no inherent acceleration or other tracking issues and allows you to actually build proper muscle memory provided your Windows mouse settings are set up properly (6/11 and no enhanced precision).

I have a G400s although I believe it was EOLed but it does have a flawless sensor. The replacement/successor is the G402 which I don't think has a flawless sensor although it actually might since it has the same one as the G100s and that's on the list but then again it has the weird tracking technology which allows it to capture super fast movement so maybe that knocks it off the list.

I can recommend a G400s although I can't recommend any of the newer models since I don't own them although I would always suggest consulting the flawless sensor mouse list before buying a gaming mouse.

I'm quite happy with my Roccat kone XTD w/ optical sensor. I prolly don't flick fast enough for the laser one to be a problem but why take chances? Also snapped up one of those nice priced steelseries pads. The thumb buttons are clicky but still have a springiness to it like the old g5 did.

I've been happy w/ my Razer Death Adder.... I've had 2 over the last 7-8 years, with lots of Battlefield 4.
