Bravo. That's damn fine for being down under where the elite parts aren't as available.

Cool... why did you pay so much? 550$ for a 7800GT? I am picking one up soon for around 280$ plus 30$ for a NV silencer.

Have fun and game away, now its time to use it.

I would go for for a 3500 or 3800+ proc, but thats just me. I dont think i'd spend more money on my RAM then my proc.

LOL, you are spending waaaay tooo much, check out newegg for some decent prices, i would not spend over 200 on a 3200+, recently i have seen 3500+ +mobo deals for around 250. graphics you should be able to get 7800gt for around 290 or so, look at the hard drive deals in the hot deals part of the forum, you shouldn't spend more than .5/gig so save an extra 100 there, you can find a floppy for $10 at newegg if you really need one, overall i would say you are paying around retail prices, and everyone knows you NEVER pay retail

gl, but you can put a better system together for around $1500

i recently put together a box for 1500 with a X2 3800+ plus a 7800 GT, a 160 7200.9 seagate, a copy of xpmce ($130), an antec p180, a neo2 modular powersupply (500W), 2 gig of memory, and a dvdrw, you are spending waaay too much. that is a small screen too for $300, check out hotdeals, recently dell had the 21 inch widescreen for 334+shipping and tax.

I would have gotten an X2 or Opteron, the new A8n32 mobo, a different monitor, seagate Hd, and a different case... but overall looks good!

Damn, you should have gotten a case with out a PSU so that the purchase of another PSU wouldn't have been a waste. Also $410 (550AUD) for a 7800GT is a total ripoff, you coulda gotta a 7800GTX.

I think that even after conversions to USD, UK and Australian computer parts are still more expensive because the prices have a built-in tax.

Also, system looks great!

i'd get a cheaper mobo. stick to DFI, but don't get an SLI board. if 7800GTs are that expensive in australia, save ur money up for your next system. besides, sli isn't a great boost and is only worth it if your parts are cheap enough for you to afford to sli at the time of building

depending on which mobo you pick you may consider getting add-on sound card.
Although envy 24 onboard sound is not bad you may get soundblaster card like say audigy 2zs for about US $50 or less to process EAX effects in games. There are other very good soundcards, too, like Chaintech av710 for just about US $25 or you can go 4x that price to get X-Fi (that is however *THE* best card for gaming

Anyway: consider your options for sound. Crappy sound ruins games.
