Gaming surface suggestions?

My Keyboard tray isn't long enough for a KB + mouse + mouse pad, so what I'm thinking is I can find a hugely oversized mouse pad and use it underneath both my KB & my mouse. Google turned up the Boogie Bug AimB.Pad XL but it looks to only be available in the UK I don't know exactly how wide my keyboard tray is, but something that was long enough to cover it would be sweet. Right now even a tiny mouse pad, I have to end up putting one end of my KB up on it. I don't need the top of the line, just a decent gaming pad that's super wide.

anyone know where this beast exists for sale?

Interesting idea, hadn't thought of that. How would it function compared to a decent gaming surface though? I found one called the XTrac Ripper XXL Mouse Surface which looks interesting, and not too expensive. But I'm sure at Lowes I could get a big piece of vinyl shelf paper for way cheaper.

Best buy sells a Rocketfish pad. It is larger than an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper and rigid aluminum with a textured surface. I keep mine under my gel wrist pad.

Looks nice, but far too small, if I used it I'd have to put it under part of my keyboard and it would lead to my KB being uneven. My board alone is something like 17 inches wide, a pad that covered my entire KB with room left for my mouse would be awesome. So I'm guessing about 23 inches wide would be what I'm after.

If you find something you like thats too big you can always cut it down to size to fit your needs.

I like my Razer Goliathus. It's a cloth mousepad, quite large, and it's worked just fine for me.

You may want to check dimensions though.

I have maybe 4 inches between the end of my keyboard and the edge of the tray, I haven't seen a mouse pad that narrow.
How can you even use a mouse? I would use a trackball in that situation, if I could stand them. You can always cut things down to fit, like someone mentioned. I use an alienware mousepad I bought on ebay. I think it is Func brand. It has two sides for different surfaces which is nice. Also, mine manages to get dirty so I can flip it over and only clean it half as often lol.

My Deathadder 3g is very sensitive. The cutting a pad down is a good idea, the ones I'd been looking at were hard plastic or steel, but if I get a cloth one I could butcher it to make it fit. I'm a retard for not thinking of that myself

I agree with cutting down a cloth pad. You could also do what I do, and remove the feet from the side of your keyboard that the mouse pad is on, placing the base of the keyboard that overlaps on the mouse pad. I have a wide enough tray that when I game I can move the keyboard farther away, in your case you couldn't but it's an option.

I use the steelseries qck+, not in the way that you're suggesting but I use the full surface area on my desk. Light, very thin, looks good and works well. If you use steelseries, any gamer that knows will see you're elite.

I only use cloth pads. It's the right amount of slip and grip for me. If you went that route, office supply stores sell big pads. It might take 2 of them, but it should fulfill your needs.

I use shelving board, you know the cheap pressed wood covered over with sheets of white plastic glued on.

I just have it laid on top of the old keyboard, but you could easily screw it in (i'd predrill).

Tape some wax paper or parchement paper to your keyboard tray. Replace when torn/worn. Cheap and easy, if you don't like it, you're not out much.

All I know is that Steam is currently, by a land slide, the best thing in gaming. Which is something Id not have expected when it originally hit.

Now if youll excuse me, Im going to take my fourty dollars I was going to spend on GoW Collection and buy 900 games off of Steam.

What does Steam have to do with a gaming surface? lol

Using Steelseries 9HD, their new pad, that I got with reward points from my citicard. Its pretty nice, better than my icemat that I was using before and a good glide. Only thing is that im still using my old MX518. They say that the steelseries xai was made in conjunction with the HD mats, which i will be getting soon.

With the high praise for steelseries mats here as well as fantastic reviews elsewhere, I decided to get a QCK heavy mat.

It's nice, but it STINKS! It smells like a combination of glue and fish!

I really hope it airs out soon! I'm leaving it in my sun room for a while D:
